Love the call of duty story, he brought this upon himself 😂
Side note, if you sat up just a tiny bit more it will look like youre wearing a tiny cowboy hat.

I will comment as someone who had watched Earl Anthony play on TV and knowing that the game of bowling has changed over the decades. The changes have improved the game of bowling. Earl Anthony would modify his game to compete with todays players.

Very nice words about Walter Ray.
Him and Norm Duke have been my favorites since the early 90s when I first started to bowl in leagues with my dad.
That has been what has made you, Walter, Norm, and Pete Weber the greatest bowlers. You all were versatile. You could play any part of the lane and be successful. And that's what it takes to be the best. ❤

When I was 18 I won a spot to bowl in the Tucson Open. They had me cross with Earl Anthony. I don't think he left anything more than a single pin the whole tournament. If he didn't carry two shots in a row, he just switched balls and started striking again. Played the same line too, didn't matter the ball or the lane. I had to move 15 boards between games.

Loved the Earl Anthony question and your views. Earl was a lefty, so I think he would adapt well in today's game. Would have loved to see how he does on his Earl Anthony oil pattern!😂 Gotta put Earl in the category of Jack Nicklaus, though...GOAT! and...Belmo in the category of Tiger Woods!

I could not agree more. Walter is the GOAT! Just watching him bowl on his TH-cam channel now, throwing two handed! He is simply the best at knocking down the pins period.

Thanks for another fun video! Please keep us posted on your Call of Duty progress 😁
Growing up, Walter Ray was my fave bowler! Stopped watching for a few years as life got hectic. Been watching consistently again for the past 3 years and you've made it such a joy 👍

Your tips on practice have been a massive help to my game. Every practice I try to leave feeling like I made an improvement somewhere, I don't care about score just repetition. I certainly feel a lot better about everything that happens before the line now and it translates.

Boomer here and I feel Earl was the greatest of all time. But you are spot on that the game is much different and he would have to adapt to win even half the number of titles he won.

WRW was called a resin guy, but before resin came out he had more career than most players
Earl was the best of his time. He also had the left advantage. Soooo damn accurate with his 20 pound ball (IYKYK ).

I am approximately as old as the PBA and I agree that Earl’s game from his prime would not dominate today’s Tour. So glad to hear you say that in your opinion he would have been able to adapt to the current conditions and be very competitive.

I'm honestly shocked Belmo said he'll go a month or two without touching a ball after tour season. That's how you know his fundamentals and muscle memory is on point. It feels like every time I take even just a week or two off I have to re-invent myself to start feeling normal again. I tend to practice at least 3 times a week.

Earl is still the greatest. He didn't even start his career until he was in his 30s and still had the most career titles. Some guys days have 10 titles before age 26. Earl was unbeatable in the era where you marched week to week. Bowling has been in weird spots before recently where you have 3 or 4 tournaments over a single week. Guys could get hott at a center and win two titles in a week. It's not the same.

I'm a lefty and grew up with the second coming of Earl Anthony. There's a best for every generation and Earl was my best.
Then we had Norm Duke, Pete Weber, Parker Bohn III, and Walter Ray Williams. 4 of the absolute best ever bowlers. As much as WRW was my least favourite of those 4 because his style wasn't as fluid as the others, he won more titles. He's my candidate for best of his generation!
Some Aussie guy using 2 hands has really changed the game. More bowlers are using the 2 hands style, and others (EJ Tackett for 1) have made slight changes to get similar revs, speed and power using 1 hand. They may even get more ball speed with similar revs, 1 handed.
It's a great time to be a bowling fan. It's been a great 45 years that I've been watching and loving bowling.

Not a boomer, but I believe you're wrong about how Earl would fare. Every pro from that era said he made more adjustments with speed, hand, etc. than anyone. And remember, the PBA did not have set pattern info in advance, so you just got to the center and figured it out. Yes, due to lane surface and ball materials, today's pros do have to play a variety of angles during an event - but you do it almost every week. It becomes a pattern you can become accustomed to. Back then at times they were laying down oil with a spray can, or in some cases they were dry as a bone. The balls back then were barely better than garden rocks. You put a 30-year old Earl with Storm and the best balls reps, and he is going to beat every left hander, regardless of how many fingers they use. Love these videos, and good luck destroying Jr.
