You left out an important factor while getting one backward.
What you had backward: Shipping lanes. They are of little or no concern to the US, as the US has a vast nuclear navy but are not a major exporter via shipping. Shipping lanes are paramount to China, especially for energy imports, but of course for the massive exports that make it a world power. So there is no reason China would close shipping lanes. Conversely the US would love to CONTROL shipping lanes, as this would be tantamount to having China's arm twisted behind it's back. China would logically defend free trade all costs for it's own gain, in line with it's respect of sovereignty world wide. Recent history tells us the US would use shipping closure as a military weapon or sanction.
What you left out: Nuclear submarines. The US deep state has a neurotic interest in the travel lanes of it's nuclear subs around the world, and the Solomons are in those lanes. Preventing the stationing of potentially unfriendly naval assets in East Timor is considered to be a reason the US gave the nod to the Suharto regime's unprovoked genocide in East Timor in the late 1970s to 1999.

Oh well, as a black American, I don’t see the problem with China having access to where they want to go. Every human being supposedly are free? Blacks have been cut off of everything in all the Western societies by the white power structures. Everything we’ve gotten in America, we had to spill our blood for access of basic human rights and services. It’s nice to see China having them in a position to tremble and the feeling of being choked off. Its nice to see the white man trembling, caused he’s certainly trembled every other nation on earth. I’m glad to see a brown man in position of power like China. Building up other nations infrastructure, hospitals, banking systems and not bombing them because they wouldn’t obey the white man. I’m glad there’s a counter-balance to the West. This white dominance, white supremacy, white hegemony needs to stop when they’re only less than 10% of the world’s population. Good job China! Keep up the good work! I see Russia is getting rid of the nazis from Europe. Maybe some day you could come to America and help the blacks community build infrastructure, hospitals and banking systems. We’re catching bell every day in America and no one cares.

Taking a totally bias views what about huge
U.S. base which are so close to China? Let look at the real facts:- The distance between the U.S. bases in Japan Okinawa and China is 2377 km vs Solomon Islands 2000kms to Australia.
The perspectives is the same...thus the narrative in this presentation is totally Ironical.
For any critical analysis what about China security perspective. However, this guy narrative is totally hypocritical...why?...let me point this out :
Diego Garcia, British Military base leased to the United States Navy, located on the atoll Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean which is 3,183kms froms India, which infact is a major concern to India themselves.
For Indian that doesn't follow current affairs. This is what happened to the people of Diego Garcia, a British colony in the Indian Ocean, were thrown off their island to make way for a US military base.
Back in the 1960s India was so concern about it...in regard to India own security.
Now suddenly, it OK with the white guys ...talk about your own security 1st before talking about others...apply your own medicines.
If you want speak about Geopolitics present the whole picture from all perspectives. I can't help it but to bring to attention to those Indian that does not know about thier own situation...while narratively siding with American....So ironical...!!!... No wonder the West exact such influence over Asians.
The Chinese is totally Strategically on the defensive not offensive example the Malacca Straits is a very important choke points that China has no answer. The mass superior U.S. Navy can easily shut down the Chinese supply & trade routes that has more than 50% of thier lifeline...that how China feel about thier security.
