@ Like you I am LMS, preferably very early doors so I can run pregrouping livery of the constituent companies as realistic. So the LMS one for me Like you again I then saw the yellow, and saw the real thing in Scotland, so got that too. Locos are even more expensive when I have to buy the domestic planning authority a dress each time I am tempted 😂😂😂
I don't think you will be disappointed. Are you affected by the strike? I couldn't send a parcel to Canada last week because our Royal Mail has suspended all post to Canada because of the strike. This was to BC.
I also had some issues connecting loco and tender so you’re not alone. Wasn’t sure if I just needed to push harder or if I was going to break it! Got there in the end, it’s my only minor gripe with the loco so far. All good aside from that. Lovely loco in a distinctive livery.
The addition I would like to this model are a weather sheet over cab, side opening and tender front. Knowing what the weather is like in the area these locos operated, such sheeting is a necessity. Will have to practise my origami skills. Can also apply similar to WW2 steam locos for night operations.
Mine came 2 days ago. It's also the colour-blind engineer's green livery and I'm very happy with it. I agree the loco-tender connection is a bit tricky and like you I was a bit worried about damaging it, you have to be very precise lining it all up, I prefer Hornby's connection which is easier. Mine also ran pretty well out of the box, perhaps a little coggy at low speeds, but it's got smoother as it's run in. Good quality box too with thick card and plenty of foam and I like the separate ice cubes for loco & tender. I was also tempted to get another or even two! Both the green liveries are also very nice, or perhaps the red lined LMS. However my wallet said no.😪 I've already got two of Rapido's O1s on pre-order - I couldn't decide between the SECR green and Bluebell liveries as both look gorgeous. Then there's the evolution coaches, some of their other locos like the MR483, J52, etc and Accurascale have some tempting locos too... Unfortunately I can't have them all so will have to choose carefully and save up. It is indeed an expensive hobby.
I feel you..I love the two green models aswell.. I have three 01s on order, most of the coaches and two Midland locos. I just need to make sure I can sell a kidney in time.
More a case of is the "Jones Goods" of any use to anyone. Who models the Highland Railway of Scotland in the era of 1904, when the type first appeared ? Further although one example is part of the National Collection, when was the last time anyone actually saw a "Jones Goods" move ? There are still many regular Class types not yet produced, from more popular eras, such as 1948 onwards. To keep all the manufacturers busy for years. One off prototypes, and esoteric types of 120 years ago, are not really well suited to any current model railway layout !
@@paulpilkington1797 movie appearance too in Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines! Much as you said, my Jones Goods is hooked up to some BR maroon coaches as she did in the 1960s tours. Nice to see some variety in the models produced.
Highland Railway modellers no doubt exist. Even if the railway is niche, someone will have tried to make a layout based on it. The LNWR Crook Street channel is really good for this. If a HR equivalent exists, the new Jones Goods will be very useful.
@@joshslater2426 Can't say I've ever come across a "Highland Railway" modeller, club or layout in fifty years of International Modelling. And certainly never during the time I owned a major model Railways shop in Britain ! And I built some unusual exhibition layouts, including the first German exhibition layout in Britain to be built using British modelling techniques, including scratchbuilt dual gauge trackwork in N/Nz which featured in "Continental Modeller" ! And a few years later, the first Japanese exhibition layout in the whole of Europe, which again featured scale 3ft 6in Gauge & Standard 4ft 8.5in gauge tracks. And resulted in the layout being shown on ITV News at Ten in Britain, as well as German & Japanese Television !!!! So as I said in the previous post, there are still plenty of major main stream classes of Steam still not produced in OO ! So if the "Jones Goods" sells, it will most likely be to the Toy train set brigade who like "pretty" models. But have no real comprehension of what the model really represents !!!
The Jones Goods deserves a place a place in history. Between the Jones and the Highland Castle they ploughed up and down between Inverness and Perth double heading getting sailors and provisions to the fleet at Scapa Flow. By 1918, the Highland Railway was knackered. Good excuse to run a Radial Tank, lent from the LSWR with the Jones!!
Wow, they are two beauties and they run so well. I absolutely love the yellow one but both amazing 😊
Thanks Mandy. I am impressed with them
Beautiful locos. Thanks for the video. Waiting for mine in Australia.
@@mkaustralia7136 Thank you..Which one did you go for? I like both of the green versions too

Amazing liveries! I ordered my in HR yellow and waiting for it to be shipped to Nova Scotia, Canada!

I was just as anxious with the second loco and separating the tender from loco again
Looks like fun! Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you

That sounds really good. I'd like to see that. I understand these locos did lots of work for the navy ports

She has charm, just not quite my cup of tea. Any Brake Van Rides with Santa on the agenda?
I can't find my Santas Kelly. I've put my previous Christmas film as a channel trailer.

The Jones good ran regular railtours in the 60s and 70s in the yellow livery. Many people have layouts of that era
