great video! i really liked the subtitles. You did a fantastic job exploring the various traumas of Fruits Basket, but the missed the trauma the audience gets when they think the lighthearted love triangle turns into something much deeper all of a sudden. I've lived this story since the original anime was realeasedon DVD in Australia, and I was so excited for the reboot, and the sequel manga
Ahhhh thank you for the lovely comment!! After watching the anime from the early 2000s, I wanted to know the ending and got involved with the manga so when this reboot happened I was so freakin excited to see it. I loved how it got so dark tho and the manga made me cry so much! I’m kinda sad we don’t see much of the crew in the sequel, just their silhouette 🥲
I love this review Kisa definitely suffered a lot but her trauma is mainly from Akito beating her but I don’t think she has it nearly as bad as say Rin, she has a loving mom Rin, Yuki and Kyo were all suicidal as well especially Rin and Kyo Rin, Kyo, Akito, Yuki, Kyoko, Machi, Momiji , Arisa, Tohru and Kureno are the ones with the most trauma Most broken and damaged Furuba characters are Akito, Kyo and Rin
@axliee9865 thank you for the lovely comment. I definitely agree that some of the characters are lucky that they have pretty decent parents. The anime definitely didn’t emphasize of the suicidal parts but it was very much there because of the trauma they encountered. I’m really glad that the handling of each character and their development was done really well in the reboot.
@privs-qg2tv Rin, Kyo and Akito are definitely the most broken and damaged in my opinion as they are still not fully healed even after the story ended Yuki is extremely traumatized but he was able to heal faster than those 3 so I wouldn’t call him broken or damaged
