    I just followed your video exactly the way you did it, and was completely successful in changing my own headlights. If I hadn’t watched this video, I would’ve had to go somewhere and pay somebody way too much money to do it for me. So thank you so much.

    Very well done video. It was my first time replacing the bulbs on my jeep and I was so confused when I opened the hood. Was initially surprised that one has to remove the grill. Your video is much appreciated.

    After 10 years i finally needed to replace a headlight bulb, and i could just not figure out how to get it off. I didn’t think about letting the grill down. 👍🏻

    I watched your vid and had the courage to change my headlamp bulbs!! Done! Perfect! I’m kind of astonished. I needed to push up the old bulb however with a few flat head screwdriver a bit because it just would not pull off after releasing the red button/clip.

    Thanks! I needed some quick instruction in a pinch with nasty weather coming through. This was a big help.
    The stock headlights on my 20' JL were a dim yellow, making it especially uncomfortable driving through my neighborhood at night.
    It was worth the upgrade. Next, I'll tackle the fog lights.

    Can I just replace that factory bulb with an LED bulb? Or would I need to change out the entire headlight?

    Thanks, but you didn’t show how to reconnect the bulb, which is challenging without bulb grease.

    • @tomintheshop

      Mine just pushed right back together without any grease

    • @Elliottctwo

      @@tomintheshop, mine was tough, but a little dab of bulb grease did the trick.

    Man my bulb does not pop out like that

  • @林振华-t4v
    @林振华-t4v 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yep, lets just make things complicated, and package the filter box power steering fluid reservoir above the head lamp. So you need to take off the grill to access to the lamp.

  • @chevy6299
    @chevy6299 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Old school way of changing a bulb, sorta.

    • @tomintheshop
      @tomintheshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This was the way the mechanic at the dealership told me as I was trying to access it through the back side. They instructed me to just pop the grill off. Only took a few minutes.

    Heads up. Stupid ass dealers are replacing those clips with ones that screw. Problem is, that trash strips when they install and now I can't get them out without destroying them. 1 came out fine, that's it. So stupid. I've replaced my headlamps a couple times already, not anymore. Now the dealer has my back against the wall having to destroy and replace clips.

    • @tomintheshop
      @tomintheshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Growyourheirlooms
      @Growyourheirlooms 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If that thing can go stump hopping at 159,000 miles, I think it can take a little hood slamming.

    Absolutely terrible engineering design. Literally twist out hot swap bulbs encased in a mess to simply switch bulbs.

    • @tomintheshop
      @tomintheshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. Jeep has been making vehicles for decades. You'd think they'd have gotten it right by now :-(
