I think the difference is that Xalatath has been teased for a while. There was the blade and then her name popping up every now and then, while the Jailer came out of nowhere and was the mastermind of everything since the beginning of time. I still cannot believe how stupid that was.
Now that we have seen the visual of Xal'atath seems like she is inspired by the mummy 2017 character ''Ahmanet'' not only visually but also in some parts of the lore that have some similarities, from Ahmanet's dagger to the release date. Theorists you have meat on the table!
@@queenbrightwingthe3890 "at this point" may I introduce you to the last 40 years of Blizzard's story writing, there's nothing original, and that's the blizzard charm

What I think is hilarious are the people complaining that Xal'atath shouldn't have an elfin body since elves didn't exist in the times of the Black Empire...like, dudes, Xal'atath's physical form is Inanis, an elf. Xal'atath's "true" form is an unknown entity. Aside: Zovaal would have been a MUCH better villain if Blizz actually gave us his motivations and backstory, rather than waiting until 9.2 to drop that he was the original Arbiter (and we never got his motivations).
It's crazy how xal'atath went from just being my shadow priest's talkative artifact weapon to being the main antagonist for the next 3 expacs. Talk about a glow up
On this saga we getting greater powers from all expansions in the past when the battle intensifies and our Hero Talent Tree grow by every expansion in Worldsoul Sage 💪
Kinda curious why no one is talking about how one of the new zones, hallowfall, is irdikons old home base. Said he was always there in war of the scales.
I think I get what you mean a raid where even when we "defeat" a bad we actually end up losing the fight and the next X-Pac is like us being completely taken over and we have to rebel against our new rulers and overthrow them
I really hope they don't make the same mistakes with her as they made with the Jailer. I also hope she can be a more memorable villain than Sylvanas. At least she doesn't appear to have a lot of back story that's clear and concise yet, as well as her potential goals. They could do amazing things with her, or this could be the 1-3 worst expansions since Shadowlands.
Do think that the light shard in the sky looks more like the tip of Sargares’ sword, it has smouldering edges around the top of it. Got a feeling whatever is in that zone is what he was aiming for and the titans managed to pull him back before he could plunge it fully in
I'm just curious how no one has brought up "The Heart Of Y'shaarj" from MoP when they're talking about "a dark heart left broken awaits the taking"? To me it sounds like that "Iridikron's Hunger" or "A Hunger lost to the ages (Galakrond) will be reclaimed" is Iridikron consuming Y'shaarj's Heart, becoming the next Galakrond. Remember that Y'shaarj was so powerful that Aman'thul himself had to rip him out of Azeroth creating a wound which filled with World-Soul-Blood became the "Well of Eternity", causing the "Great Sundering" and "the Maelstrom" later on. The Corruption from the Heart was so strong that until this day, no one could figure out how to clear it from the "Vale of Eternal Blossoms". It's not our typical blue-ish Void-Corruption. It's diffrent Shades of Black & White. (The same color palette as the Infinite Dragonflight btw.) This sparks another interesting thought. If Aman'thul's Magic granted Nozdormus power, but Murozond has the colors of the Sha as his mirrored self, could this mean that Y'shaarj wan't an "Old God" but a Voidlord instead? Aman'thul's Sibling? Like Elune & Winterqueen?
Wouldn't it be more interesting if Azeroth is not a Titan? That, in my opinion, is the direction they should take it, that Azeroth is something completely different from anything we have seen before and that's why everybody wants to control her.
I like that idea. Perhaps she's even far older than the void lords or the titans. Her power might be so great that if she were to ever wake it would doom which ever force opposed her. She could be what's left of the creator of the universe.
When you said the part about "All they want is our world" to me it sounded more like Azeroth was originally a void lord soul and that the Titans found out about it and are the ones trying to "corrupt" it and turn it into a void/light titan and it still fits in the story in my opinion of Sargeras being afraid of it because the Titans plan to use it to claim everything for the light and thats what leads us into the void/light war where the light ends up fighting against us the players as we always thought because theyre Xionistic
Did you notice that the logo for last titan is wrapped in the same prison that razegath freed her siblings from same runes and everything. The sword was trying to break Azeroth out of prison
I'm so excited for Metzen's return. This is what Warcraft has needed desperately. Hopefully the gameplay comes full circle as well as the lore, but I'm actually extremely hopeful for once in a long time.

Calling it now, villain of midnight is gonna be queen azshara. Unite all the ancient elves to battle there ancient queen and finally put her down in her new form.
Xal’atath x Azshara mash-up. Could totally see a scenario where she’d end up as the true living host of Xal’atath capable of harnessing her full power.
I guess the Nerubian Queen forgot how we helped her kind against Arthas minions and the traitor Anub'arak. Similar to how the Mantid once were our allies but once Garrosh unleashed the heart of y'shaarj became our enemies and Queen joined N'zoth forces in BFA. The mantid was atleast pretty clear we would be enemies in the future(still hated it though😂) But would love too see our old Nerubian allies from Northrend join us against these new Nerubians.

We never met/interacted with a Nerubian Queen in wow until Legion, and that was in the Chromie scenario thing if im not mistaken. This Nerubian civilization has 0 ties to us most likely, we may not even see any familiar faces due to this.

I think that Xal'atath is a splinter of Azeroth, just as Sylvanas and many others killed by Frostmourne were split. Who would benefit from such? Well, the most obvious answer, which clearly means it's wrong, is the titans. Another mistake by Elune? Possibly, A Naaru? Closer. Somebody benefits-or believes they do-from forcing order on the pendulum balance of Light and Dark. So no, I don't think she's exactly the same as an old god any more than I think that the world soul of Azeroth is a titan. Whoever split her sought to divide void and light, chaos and order. Something about Xal'atath's very existence deprives Azeroth of completeness. Whether she is the fulcrum or the result-or both-of the unnatural imposition of order, is our mystery to solve. She knows who she is and is intelligent and guileful enough to simultaneously SUCCUMB to her nature, the chaotic side of the universe that maintains balance, where order would impose permanent imbalance, to desire primacy over all her parts; YET TRANSCEND her nature, ever yearning for union with her other half, hearkening to Plato's recount of Aristophanes' divided human forms. She delays only because she must figure out how to reunify without utterly destroying them both, and while acquiring all the power of a complete self without sacrificing her own dark, conniving identity. It might be that she determine unequal union is impossible, in which case she delays the otherwise inevitable; or perhaps she's simply too brilliant to be selfish, rather deliberately leveraging her guile to root out other cosmic power players that maintain imBalance, the assassin that is nobody's friend but only everyone's all at once. It's a super complicated persona to keep believable; but if Blizzard is following this plot, we have easily a decade or more of expansions where she will appear variably as our foe and our ally, often both. It's extremely metaphysical.
