    I wish reviewers didn't ALWAYS take the top spec model, I'd like to see what the base ones are like.

    The Tucson looks the best and I can stare at it longer than like the Rav4 as a daily driver. It's a really balanced car with a bit of everything. It might not be the best in one category like reliability or gas efficient, but you have a variety of options. For the limited, you get a big pano roof, sport mode for a day then eco gas saving for traveling days, it looks great, and there's ventilated front seats with heated back seats. You will always get some and you will lose some.

    Hyundai tucson looks pretty good on paper. I was wondering how does it stack up against Nissan Qashqai and Honda Hrv?

    what cargo space is a problem? in the compact SUV? then other compact SUVs are the disaster.

    I literally have this exact model and year and color, only thing i don’t have is the sound system( to my knowledge) the emblems for the speakers could have fallen off

    Wonder if there is any issue with carbon build-up with Hyundai's GDI engine.

    IIRC, neither the Toyota Rav 4, Honda CRV, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-5, etc, has front seat ventilation (only heated front seats), and some no rear seat heat. This also has dynamic bending lights, on its top trim. It has far more bang for ones buck. Problem is it is to small to really compete with these vehicles, and the Santa Fe Sport, is too long to really compete. Hyundai needs an in between size of these two....

    in our place tucson is much cheaper, good warranties compare to toyota and honda.. i dont care about cargo space.. and we dont mind petrol, its cheap here!

    You did the Kia Sportage a little while back. Would you recommend the Sportage over this Tucson? Also, you referred to the Mazda CX-5 in both reviews. How would you rate it overall versus these two? Do you have a Why Buy video for the Mazda CX-5 that I am missing?

    • @jakeholmes1760
      @jakeholmes1760 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Sportage and Tucson are pretty different; the Sportage is sportier and has more powerful engine choices, and the Tucson is perhaps a little better for most people as a daily driver. The CX-5 is a ton of fun to drive and while we don't have a Why Buy? video on it (yet), you can read about it here: www.motor1.com/reviews/138885/2017-mazda-cx5-first-drive/

      Consumer reports has doesn't agree about the CX5. At least for reliability they don't.

      In my 2017 Sport 1.6 Turbo, the sport mode will increase the rpm which does give a quicker launch & speed.

    But this one is nice/stylish looking. I like it just for that alone. Otherwise, why is it the really good ones are always ugly-looking? Or usually the front is nice but the back looks ugly or vice versa. With this vehicle, both front AND back looks nice!

    I have the 2017 Tuscan DCT and at first was mostly fine, till I started seeing the "high temp, stop safely" message on dash when I was in stop and go traffic. It is not the normal overheating, but instead due to the dual clutch system. The clutches overheat for the "eco-friendly system". Last time it happened I couldn't pull over and the car died in traffic for 15mins. It is extremely INCONVENIENT and UNSAFE! Hyundai should be ashamed of themselves for sacrificing safety and efficiency for some marginal environmental impact in this 'eco-friendly' DCT. After the repeated overheatings to the clutch (caused by built-in defect), it will cost ~$1500 to replace. I will never buy another Hyundai again!

    I purchased one of these new August '16 and by December '16 I had sold it. The transmission on the DCT version is absolutely atrocious. It is totally unpredictable. Seriously, stay away from this car. You can look up that many others have had that exact same problem.

    • @mariel4085
      @mariel4085 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's the dct problem in the 1.6L turbo...not in the 2.0L 6speed automatic transmission..you should have got that one, this issue was only in a certain number made between certain dates in 2015& 2016, the 2.0L does not have the dct so it's not a problem..

    • @captainken452
      @captainken452 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lisa Lemon I tried being specific. yes, I have heard of no problems with the regular automatic transmission.

    • @Maxxlenoxx
      @Maxxlenoxx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Usually, if you have problem with DCT it's because you're driving it like it's an automatic You MUST adapt your driving to make the clutch "slips" just like a manual. I had the same problem as you describe for the first few weeks and then I changed my driving. It's been 2 years now, can't complain, it's smooth!

      I have a '17 Tucson, and 2 weeks after I got it, I deeply regret choosing it. I agree that the DCT is absolutely atrocious! How can I sell it and not take a huge loss?
