    It makes me sick that people out there could do such horrible things to these beautiful creatures. Horses are honest to a fault. Unlike humans, horses don't have a potential for being phony. What you see is what you get. Horses and all animals deserve better treatment. Thank God there are people out there who actually care.

    The cruelty inflicted upon defenseless animals by human beings is outrageous!
    Fortunately, Thistle was rescued and able to survive his harrowing ordeal.
    Thank you, HSUS, for ALL you do for the animals.

    It is depressing to think that someone, will deprive and animal of the basic needs for life. I think it is great what HSUS does. No animal should have to go through such things, HELL! What has this broken world become?
    I dream that when I am older, all animal cruelty will be vanquished!
    Remember those who have payed the ultimate price,embrace those who survived and SHAME on those who can go to sleep knowing that they have committed animal cruelty!

    I understand completely what you're saying, it upsets me too. But I just keep in mind the wonderful things the HSUS does and I find my self not only grieving for the lost, but rejoicing for the saved. The rejoicing overtakes the sorrow, and I am happy the HSUS is there to do what they can, and how the donations I and many others make help them. Yes, it is very depressing, but that's not the intention. Feel happy for the survivors, but be sensitive too, it's a great personality trait.

    i cry at the thought that people just leave animals out in the world to die and suffer alone with the owner thinking that all is well and that the horse is in good health!!:(why do people think its okay to have animals suffer to make loads of MONEY!!!the thought of that makes me want to just tell the goverment to stop animal crulety!!!(sorry for the emotion)

    owning an animal in a developing country is for survival; owning an animal in North America (in most cases) is a luxury, therefore there's no excuse for anyone to neglect an animal under their care. If you can't afford it don't own one or surrender it, you brought the animal into your life not the other way around.

    when i was in guatemala we went horseback riding. The horses that we rode were VERY skinny and very weak. I told the people who worked there (thank gosh they spoke english) that I was not going to ride one of these horses. I told them how they NEED food and water and rest. The man looked at me funny but then he said that they would care for them. I don't know what happened after that, but it felt great knowing I did the RIGHT thing.

    I still remember my German Shepherd mixed Labrador dog. I loved her but I was afraid of the poor dog at the same time she had a nice home with a yard to run and play and she had yummy food in her bowl and water at all times. She scared me but I loved her. I still miss her. She was saved from almost being killed because no one adopted her I still remember he lying on the porch cooling off and feeling good. I would just sit and watch not shes in dog heaven for she was hit by a HUGE truck or car

    I appreciate the suffering that you see and also that you care. But please don't say "this is nothing compared to..." We can never compare one creature's suffering with another's. They each are in pain and they each deserve better. We do our best to take away from, or at least not add to, the suffering of others. We shouldn't belittle the pain another bears, because it's a great deal of pain to that individual.

    it would probably be easy if america was the boom house of money and help and nations who are willing to accept help!...but maybe someday in the future things will change for the whole world to be kind onto all living things

    This is nothing compared to what you can see in underdeveloped countries. Donkeys and horses are used as cars, they are obligated to charge like piles of bricks, stuff to sell or street crap, mostly by poor people. You can normally see at downtown dirty and thin donkeys going all over the streets. I always feel sad when I see that because the government is poorly developed to counteract this problem.
    It'd be fantastic if you consider going to underdeveloped countries (like in Latin America).

    the people in the poor countries cant do much about it right now, they need knowledge, education and the environment and of course its also a question about culture.....if you grow up in an environment were people treat animals good, they later your also treat animal good ect...do you have to change the environment

    I'm an artist that would like to dedicate all my horse-themed art to a horse charity, with all money I make of of those pieces going to the charity. I'm new at this. Anybody know how to go about that?

  • @Kayleena68
    @Kayleena68 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can't go in a poor country or underdevelopped country and tell people "You can't keep your animal because it's animal cruelty". These people need these donkeys for their living. They don't have our preoccupations : you can teach them how to treat them, but I'm not sure it will be effective. When you earn a few dollars a week to feed all your family, you just can't care about environnment, animal cruelty...It's up to the gov to help developp the country, and THEN fight against animal cruelty.

    Just knowing that probably millions of kids always wish for a pony. And then this. Why do they have to kill?

    A few hundred years ago, no more than 200 to be exact, the USA, Canada and England as well as most of Europe used horses and donkeys/mules in the same exact fashion. Or worst.

    I rescue horses

  • @MadCatAttack123
    @MadCatAttack123 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would agree. But you have to take into account the fact that in a underdeveloped country, the owner walking alongside the starving animals is likely to be a walking skeleton themselves. More likely than not, that owner has a wife and kids at home waiting to be fed on the few dollars earned from the work done by the animals. Take those animals away, and you may as well have condemned a family to starve. All I'm saying is: Different environment, different standards. Don't be so quick to judge.
