True. Castelli’s sizing is still all over the place. But once you get the right size, it’s great. So I order 2 or 3 sizes and send them back if it doesn’t fit. This, I found out, goes for bibs, shirts, socks, gloves etc.
Its an Italian thing, those Italian guys must be super slim, your right about Castelli, Santini etc I always go at least two sizes up. Some Castelli come in XXXL but sometimes hard to find
I’m like you but somehow I can fit in a castelli xl but just barely. Rapha xl bibs and their fly weight jerseys in size large feels like nothing on at all. Feels invisible. Rapha for the win
so , the one that you are using. its a perfect fit? i just got a castelli L and had to get an XL. it fits well but the straps are a little tight, it should be like this? yours seems quite tight on the shoulders. thanks
you didnt mention the chamois is suppose to fit you correctly and not feel like a diaper....by the way i got 2 train pack craft aero bibs for 200.00! same bibs team sunweb rides in (cervelo riders)
Nice explanation, just got a sportful supergiara, seems pretty tight in straps..Can I ask, for reference, which us your height? I am 179 cm and got an XL, waist is perfect (as from their chart) but I can feel the straps pulling a little.
@@Veloharmony thanks a lot. So, for info, I've just found perfect fit with Sportful Supergiara 2XL. I am 179cm for 80kg. Indeed italian bibs feet super small, but go 1 size up with respect to their chart and you will be fine..superior quality, in my opinion!
@UCkwFYKzlGM0o_lNMskphcCQ ahhh nice thanks for sharing, these vids are helpful. do you have any about manufacturer quality? I just bought some Maap stuff and did not like the material as much as Rapha. Kind of sucks not being able to into a store to see different brands in person but seems like you have a nice variety.
I feel your pain. I have tried many over the years and have settled on mainly Rapha and now the Souke brand. It's hard without handling the garment to validate the quality. I tried Rapha because of their easy return policy which eliminates risk and expense and was very happy with the quality. Souke sent samples to the channel, eliminating the risk of trying and then we bought more after doing the reviews. I will be doing additional comparison videos between the the luxury brands of Jerseys and bibs e.g. Rapha vs Assos, which may help.
I just ran into problem with my team kit, ordered a 'pro' version of their bibs and the sizing was way off (smaller, pencil legs, the front of bib just above crotch instead of just at navel) compared to what I already own from them. Sadly it's a custom order, with 'all sales final' policy. Not sure if I should call them anyway, but I could only wear on indoor trainer, for fear of ripping them.
As you found out, custom is kinda yours once you pull the trigger and thus it's best to make sure you're familiar with the garment sizing prior to going that route. You can always try and sell it on Ebay. Good Luck.
Bib Straps are too tight, make the shorts dig into the crotch. Rest fits really well, do i size up or wait for the straps to loosen up a bit on the shoulder
You have the wrong size for that particular manufacturer, which doesn't fit your body. They're not going to stretch. They should fit well when you get them. You can always have a local alterations shop add additional fabric to the strap and next time you need to size up when buy from that vendor.
Hi @veloharmony. You and I run the same size. What is your fit in the Rapha Pro? I’m having a difficult time finding the right fit in Bibs with the pro.
Hi. Im 6'2 13 stone 7 and wear a large/long in the pro team bib shorts. They're a nice compression fit and therefore no bunching. I have the thermal pro bib shorts too and they are even more snug but are much thicker material. Don't forget to not just stand in them for sizing but adopt the bent position for a true gauge. I've tried many shorts, gore castelli assos mavic endura and rapha core which are great too. Nothing is as comfy as the rapha pro though which is a shame as they are expensive. Hope that helps.
Andrew..I am 6'2" 86 Kilos with a 36" Waist. I just remeasured myself and it's clear my waist has increased. It used to be 34.5", but my midsection is lean, so my body has changed over the last couple of years. I fit the Rapha Pro Team XL Bibshorts XL which is according to the size guide 96cm/38" for the waist. I prefer to always size up to get a 'full cut' feel, to accommodate my sprinter's thighs. The waist fits fine because the Pro Team is cut small anyway.
This was super helpful given so many vendors have different sizing charts. Was getting quite confusing until I found this.
You're so welcome! It is a more practical way to get sizing for cycling kits right.

Yes. I have always had a challenge with Castelli Apparel.

I love the way you talk man! Did anyone mention that you phrase stuff like Hemingway would do? 😄🙏
Well no, never had anyone mention that, but I appreciate the compliment.
A great video once again, friend.
Thank you Rubiodiamante! Cheers!

I find it the most challenging, finding the right fit with the Italian brands.
Great video, thanks!

Hi dear Veloharmony!
Thanks for your content.
What do you think about the Rapha Classic line?

Hey
How do the bibs from souke-sports run?
Are they true to size?
Do you recommend following their size chart?
Yes they're true to size..follow the size chart and user your dimensions to see where you fall.
really helpful video
Glad it was helpful!

My sentiments exactly. Rapha seems to have a fuller fit versus other brands.
hello ,thank you could you let me know what brand bib short that is you are wearing in this video?thanks

What model of Castelli Bibs are you wearing in the video? Very informative, cheers !
Michael it's Castelli Men's Endurance 2 Bibshort Black - 2X-Large

Yes, it is! Shoulder straps should not be loose but neither should they be uncomfortably tight. The should stay in place and not move.
There is nothing like the brick and mortar store. I just try them on .
Our LBS don’t carry the varieties available online, so we have to try them via mail order.

When do we get to meet the pup that greets us about the same time you do with each video? Valerie thinks it’s piped in. No, it couldn’t be.
Valerie is right 😀. He is piped in.

what are your measurements? I think you said 34.5 waist but what about height? weight?
?????
You said you’re ordering L/XL because you’re tall but I have no reference to what that means
