Yeah, they are notorious for light strikes since garbage taurus bought out Heritage in 2012 😢😢 They changed the entire revolver including recasting the frame because they are complete idiots! But I have several fixes for that if you run into that problem! Remove every single screw one by one and put blue thread lock on them! I have had my ejector rod housing go flying across the yard before on them. The guy who makes the metal ejectors does a real good job on them. I have got several from him 😊 Premium Gun Grips is an excellent company!!! They stand behind there product and the owner is amazing! 😊 Yeah, I have a few of these 😮 I used to make replica's out of them 😊 I will have a few in some videos soonish. If you ever have any issues with it, let me know. I have probably been down the road more than once. Nice revolver man! I hope it treats you well 🎉
@jamesmelton818 Yeah its not a precise target pistol, its a general use accurate revolver. I can still shoot small six inch steel targets at various distances up to 25 yards accurately.
We own one, manufactured in Florida...it has been a very good gun, reliable, kinda accurate, yes, the ejector housing screw stays loose...it shows the scratches, dings, worn finish of a gun ridden hard...over the years thousands of rounds downrange, eventually I might need to replace something, and the gun invites do it yourself fixing...the gun paid for itself a long time ago, and if ever unfixable we will simply buy another one...
No Pro. Good video. Great looking gun with your upgrades. Good shooting. That second group was really good. I ended up with three of those cowboy guns over the years but have not shot them as well as you! Thanks for sharing and take care.
I have a Rough Rider and a Bar Keep. I like both of them. I go for Bolt Action for 22lr rifles. Even the good Semi Auto 22lr rifles gave me trouble so I traded for Bolt Actions.
If you don't get light strikes they are great. I have had a few that gave me fits. But the ejector rod was a good find. And them grips are from the same place I got for my 2 38 special revolvers. I put a spot of white finger nail polish on front sight blade to help me pick it up. Good fun buddy and you can get a 22 mag cylinder for it cheap and try some 22mag
I had the same one, but I changed the hammer for a black one. The silver hammer color does NOT go with any of their revolvers. I sold my 6-shooter for a 9-shooter, but my black hammers won't work on it, so I have to wait until they finally get around to making them before I can change it. Other than that, though, I love the gun. I have two 9-shooters.
I watch a lot of these videos and I even make a few of them. The mistake I see over and Over again is, the name of that gun is not Rough Rider. That is a Jonny Boy, one in a series of Heritage guns called The Rough Riders.
I can’t hit nothing with my rough rider lol, I’m not very good with pistols to begin with haha, I got it more for tricks, can’t go wrong really cheap I had a coupon tho haha, I didn’t get a 22mag cylinder tho 😔
funny enough many single action revolvers have partial timing issues that cause the round to snag the side of the barrel cone and ruin accuracy could be as simple as a cylinder pawl arm replacement or a complex as a trigger cylinder stop replacement which has to fit the cylinder stop cuts in the 6 or 9 round version revolver. the term your looking for may be "cylinder slop" and its a major concern for revolver accuracy and correct cylinder timing function, without it there's a small chance of micro detonation and massive lead shrapnel blow out from the cylinder gap
Nice. With a few minor changes, the feel and function can be customized..
Thanks for sharing.👍
Thank you! Fun Stuff can't wait get ahold of some cans.
Single action is a lot of fun. I've got one for Friday!

you can manually blue the hammer if your that focused on having a blacked/blued esq hammer.
Nice! You gonna do the revolver challenge with it?
I don’t think It’s tight enough for me anyways It did inspire me to want a wheel gun though.👍🏻
