    I'm thinking I might make a short basics video for this PSU, if anyone would be interested in that let me know!

      Yes please make one.

    The cable connection to the unit is very tight. If you think that it cannot go further in then you have underestimated just how hard you have to push to get it seated properly. I have one of these and had the same problem initially until I realized this.

    I'm probably going to get the KA3005D. I can go cheaper and get a switch mode psu. But I'd rather have something that will last me longer. Do you still have this supply? Does it still work or has it given you problems? Thanks.

    They say that fan is constantly switched ON and making some noise (even temp is not high or PSU is in idle)? Is that true?

    Is this still your power supply, and if so do you still recommend it?

    Is there a way to give it a Constant current and constant voltage to work as a adapter?
    I want to use mine as a power suply for my anodizing tank but as soon as i set the current to 1amp it switches back to 0 because the resistance is to big.

      I am having the same issue did you find a solution?

    Thanks for the review, based on this I bought one a while back. I find the calibration is close, but about .07V off. For most stuff, that doesn't matter, but do you know if there's a way to calibrate this unit??

    • @TinkeringWithTerrius
      @TinkeringWithTerrius  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the manufacturer website (sra-solder.com/korad-kd3005d-precision-variable-adjustable-30v-5a-dc-linear-power-supply-digital-regulated-lab-grade) under technical data they have calibration instructions. I would be very cautious adjusting the calibration, as it is likely fairly easy to throw it way out of balance.
      I hope this helps!

    Can it work as current source? While charging baterry can I force Stanley current or just limit it?

    • @TinkeringWithTerrius
      @TinkeringWithTerrius  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has voltage limiting and current limiting, but I'm not sure if you could force a specific current and voltage or not for charging batteries.

    Hi, thanks for this video!
    have you ever had a look into the QJE - QJ3005T or the Velleman - LABPS3005? I would like to know if they are exactly the same or only the same look?

    • @TinkeringWithTerrius

      Those two models do look similar (though there are some obvious differences), and spec wise they also seem similar. I've never seen either of those two in person so I can't say for sure.

    Identica a Hf-3205s da Hikari ( Sim, eu sei que a Hikari não fábrica fonte de bancada ).

    I am not an expert by any means but according to what i know, Rubycon is a top quality brand for capacitors. Great psu imo.

      You are indeed correct Rubycon caps are usually very high quality.

    Did you try a different power coard? That is a very sloppy connection. =/

    • @TinkeringWithTerrius
      @TinkeringWithTerrius  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the suggestion!
      I just tried out a different power cord from one of my PCs and it did actually fit properly. It would appear the cord that came with the PSU has a defect on the pin contacts that prevents it from fully plugging in! I'm not sure why I didn't try a different cord last night... *face palm*
      That is the first time I've ever had a C13 connector not physically fit into a plug, luckily I have a ton of PC power cables around!

      @@TinkeringWithTerrius I just purchased the KD3005P and the power cord fit perfectly. Nice review.

    The housing is just a waste of space.
    But it looks pretty good. Bought one for 30 bucks yesterday :)

      Tinkering With Terrius I am a Canadian now temporary in Morocco and buying things and importing things here is painful. I really miss the "availability" of the tech in Canada ! Cheers

    My Korad had famous crash issue even with the updated boards. I'm done with this Chinese junk. From now on, on keep on saving money to buy Rohde & Schwartz or similar high end equipment. Granted you can buy a complete lab with Owon or Siglent stuff for the price of just a Rohde & Schwartz power supply, but at least you don't have to worry about the equipment failing or, even worse, destroying anything hooked up to it.
    Chinese just can't designing anything decent.

    I really don't understand the point of your review we know it is a power supply no need to show us the power cord and to show us how accurate the voltage is by testing with metres and to open it that is common sense we wanted a proper review the MOST IMPORTANT thing you didn't show ... HOW ABOUT how the PROTECTION works ???????? THAT'S MOST important but you to busy showing obvious things very BAD review....

    • @TinkeringWithTerrius
      @TinkeringWithTerrius  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It is what it is, some people are interested in the build quality and accuracy of the device that is who this review was designed for. There are certainly things that I didn't think to add at the time.
      I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for when you say protection, if you mean OCP then you simply set a current and hold the current knob in until the OCP light comes on. Other than OCP there is no "protection", you simply have to be mindful when working with a bench PSU and stay aware of your leads.
