I've never heard of Italian style asparagus before. It really looks good. I can't wait to try it. I am curious about when you boil the asparagus with the rubber bands. Don't they leech into the water and give an off flavor or chemicals?

Hi Lisa- just blanching them for 30-60 seconds. Not enough time to change the flavor or release chems.
