😂 I did it backwards I was laid and hatched 😂 I'm doing my 68 coupe to fastback in an old world war 2 barracks that was moved and converted into chicken and egg barn and then into a general use shop and storage and then a shop where he worked on his cars and old Corvairs and storage and there's drawings on one whole wall of cartoonish type drawings and this is where Mort Walker (beetle Bailey) was at boot camp so it is very possible it's his drawings, I'm going to try and make a little you tube videos of my conversion and of the building I'm trying to find out about the drawings
I'm an old guy, and I like nice, shiny paint. I really don't like the moss. BUT, I don't own the car, I didn't save it from the crusher, or do all the work to put it all together. Do your thing, and I'll keep watching!
Stay warm Dan keep bringing them back to life, running and driving going down the road is a lot better than sitting in a field or in the woods rotting away
How can people be mad, it's your car, your time, your money and almost 16k views in 4 hours, I'd say your living the dream and we are along for the ride, thanks for the memories or so long and thanks for all the fish. lol.
You got it Buddy , I get home after 10pm from work at least 5 days a week. I come to TH-cam to see if Dan has a new video to entertain me till I go to sleep
Dan I love this car! I've been trying hard to hate it, but I can't. I love it. It really grows on you. I mean it looks like it's a back-woods looking hillbilly style, no money build. But, it is a solid rust free (mostly) awesome suspension, brakes, engine combo very cool ride. Keep in mind I'm 65 and have restored several cars to beautiful show car standards in my lifetime. This goes completely against my grain, but I absolutely love it! Great video!
Hey Dan, I love what you are doing with your 57. Can't wait to see it on the road on a nice day. I wish you wouldn't put yourself down. I think the work you do on the heaps you bring home and then put them back on the road. Love your channel and videos. Take care and be safe.
Loving it anyone that has seen this from the start to this point, and listened to what you said all along should know this is exactly what you said. You and Danni are totaly amazing.
Brother you straight up gave that car a whole new lease on life! From this point in time will only get better and better.. It will never again will see a day where some one is not pampering this car like a small child as it desrerves to be. Its might be what you call a Roach but its a shiney awsome Raoch! And its a DD Speed shop car! Whats not to love?? Hahaha you totaly rock brother! I hope some day are paths meet. Keep them wrenches and wrecks Flying!!!
When you get done it’s going to be cool as hell!!! Do nice motor and drivetrain with decent interior and you will have thousands looking and giving you thumbs up wherever you take it!! Love the direction you’ve taken it. I’ve done car show builds and ol beaters both. Loved them all. It’s what you want and what means you have to get there. GREAT JOB!
I enjoyed it! Like you said….. it will be on the road again! How many have good intentions to perfectly do a vehicle and it never happens? It still makes this one a survivor and it not in a crusher! Let the haters hate! I think it’s great!
I don't know how you do it, Dan. You took a 57 Belair P O S and turned it into a shiny Belair P O S so funny.Glad you went the extra 2 inches on this build 😅😅😅😅
I love how the rags used to wash/dry the car are now stopping the cold from coming under the garage door. Pure definition of dual purpose rags. Right on man. Love it
I haven't seen Dan so very happy in months. God Bless shiny paint over ratty surface tri-five '57's. Happy Motoring Dan, stay happy for ever. from Berkeley Cali...
You're a wise man, I've restored and restomoded a few cars in my time and NOT one cost less than buying one already done, not even close. We do this for the passion of cars and cruising and friends we make. Oh and views....haha Car looks awesome! Kind of like I did on my 62 C10 but I used Flood Penetrol. ;)
Hi Dan. Just like Frank's Red Hot I love this shit. I get so tired of the trailer queens polished and rubbed on with you know what when the cars should just be just turning tires down the road IMHO. I have a '62 Corvette with a 350 and a Super T10, beat up, 'glass patches, non stock diff and gauges, wheels, brakes and just about anything else you can think of. It's a street fighter and does really well for what it is and a ball of fun especially power shifting at 6500. Don't give those jokers any mind, that '57 is great and you and Danni should drive the wheels off it.
I love this car so much. I'm not really a Tri 5 guy, but this car has me coming around. Please just keep making the internet mad, because it is a fantastic car.
Dan, the important thing is you save the car like a way I saved my Bonville it was one step from the crusher just make it safe and running and enjoy it. Cheers.
I talked to a friend of mine who has four 57’ Chevys he said he had watched some of the long haired Canadian “he’s a hack” I’m like yeah that’s why I like him 😂
The old man bladder lost the battle at the door trim I laughed so hard I dribbled 🤣 This thing is the epitome of a daily beater. If some one keys it in the parking lot it just adds to the look lol
I’ll never understand the appeal to create such a franken-car, but you do it well. Back in my youth we called those sleeper cars. One look and no one expected anything from it. I would love to see you focus your talent and energy on creating a really nice car. But, as you say, it’s not your jam. I admire and respect your persistence and stick to it attitude.
Dan you can buff the primer to look like a shiny top coat, if you just want to just protect the paint from the elements buff the car it real good with a buffer to get clean of debris and everything, get it slick, and you can put a little cornstarch about a quarter teaspoon in your clear coat and it'll still cover the paint and protect it without a glossy shine.👍🏻
I missed the glass video but i cant help noticing how good the windsheild and rear window looks….is it a custom flush mount glass or just really nice modern tech…..i think its the tint thats makin it pop!!!….either way, you nailed it, like usual!!!
Dude I wouldn't worry too much about the negative comments do whatever makes you too happy and to hell with others I'm not a big finesse or perfect finish guy myself so I personally love the show
When you do the work, you make the call on the way it looks. Which, by the way, is WAY better than I would ever have guessed. I thought you’d have sprayed the rear quarter to “kind of” match the paint, but even that looked better than I expected. Keep up the entertaining content!
I have been using the same sheet of reflectix which is foil coated bubblewrap for the last 15 years. It just rinses or wipes clean . The shine on that 57 looks great! I need the insulation working out in the snow in upstate NY. And it keeps the old back off the cold ground.
I have to admit that i didn't see your vision at first. Now i do, and it's hilarious! Thank you for putting a smile on my face! I can't wait to see vid's on that thing rolling on sickweek or perhaps in the mud 'n snow driving off to visit peg leg.
18:55 I like this music, kinda has a ELO/Peter Green mashup. I think the moss will look great or horrible either way it will be awesome! No reason to comment on the cars in the vids cause you don’t care and aren’t listening. Which is what you should do. I enjoy every vid. Way to go Dan!
Love it! Would be proud to call mine. So impressed that not only can you turn a basket case into a real car but how quickly you do it! Much respect and thanks for saving another one
Great job, Dan! The car has definitely grown on me!! I'm looking forward to seeing how the Camaro turns out! I had a 69 Camaro SS back in the early 80's when I was 16. It was grey primered with red bondo spots, the left frt fender was green & all dented in & it had an orange fiberglass hood w/an 11" snorkel scoop. It looked like crap, but had a little over 500hp sbc, T-400 & a 12 bolt posi. It was pretty fast for the time period & a 16 yr old. Stupid me blew the engine & sold the car as a roller. I've regretted it ever since. I'd love to build another one someday!! Keep up the outstanding content!! Thanks!!
Dude... What you said about trying to get a deal from your friend's business is the realest shit I've ever heard!! Support local small business by paying full price and helping their business grow!! As always, love the car Dan!!
Part of the reason you use material so fast is the purple HF spray gun. It has a 1.8 needle and tip. It's for heavier stuff like primer. The more expensive (still cheap for spray gun) Spectrum blue or Black Widow guns have 1.3-1.5 needle in them. The caps have more air holes in them too. I bought a blue one and was extremely impressed with the quality. It spays as well as my high $$$$ guns.
@@DDSpeedShop oh. I have only seen those in 1.8. I have a handful I use for primer and spraying big metalflake. I wish they had a better cap so they atomized the paint better. Anyway the 57 looks awesome. Absolutely love it.
Absolutely fantastic Dan I love this thing. I really like the shine with the chrome. Can’t wait to see the finished product whit bumpers and grill. Love it man. 👍😎✌️
Dan, I must say this unique Chevy you call ratty is turning out to be a great build so far, a real fan favourite. As well, many of us out there appreciate your straight up honesty, even if it's sometimes a little brutal!
This is just like a train wreck, you can't look away . As a guy putting a "57 CHEV convertible for my daughter, I love every minute of these projects, it give me inspiration. Keep up the Good(?) work. Thanks
By just clear coating now, you will be preserving and showing the all the hard work put into it. Now a story that tells itself. People love a car with a story. Well, I do .
Chaos Blue with a Moss Blue Top !!! Let it all hang out !!! And underneath she`s a solid as a rock !!! This is one Fun, Cool car Dan. Two thumbs Up !!! All the mods are great too !!! The new floor, the frame and the headers; Par Excellence !!!
Dan is not pretending to be a hack for clicks and views. He is a legitimate hack at heart.
Born and bread

Looks bitchen!

I hate to admit it but I love the same things you do. Make it work. Make it loud. Made it stand out from the norm.
Stay warm Dan keep bringing them back to life, running and driving going down the road is a lot better than sitting in a field or in the woods rotting away

Patina is whatever the car’s OWNER says it is! You do WHATEVER YOU WANT Dan…we watch because you do cool stuff.
This is truly one of my favorite "channels" on TH-cam you are do what you want and that what makes you worth watching. I could watch you 24/7.
You got it Buddy , I get home after 10pm from work at least 5 days a week. I come to TH-cam to see if Dan has a new video to entertain me till I go to sleep
This is proof that we will watch anything and love it. Keep putting them out . I'll watch.

Ahhh that sweet sweet fog!! REALLY digging it! Turned out GREAT!!

Kinda like the highway line painters painting over a dead deer. Car is Badass.
Best comment.
After another 4 fun filled days and nights in the hospital this has made my day! Thanks guys 😉
Oh man. Feel better
hospitals aint fun i had 10 excusite days..To die for..
Dan, you knocked it out of the park on this one! I love it!!!
I enjoyed it! Like you said….. it will be on the road again! How many have good intentions to perfectly do a vehicle and it never happens? It still makes this one a survivor and it not in a crusher! Let the haters hate! I think it’s great!
Man i love that it has a Ford Thunderbolt hood scoop !!! It just looks right !
just needs a ford small block 351 cleveland into her , eh, Buddy ?
By far one of my “ favorite “ builds you have done 👍🔥
I don't know how you do it, Dan.
You took a 57 Belair P O S and turned it into a shiny Belair P O S so funny.Glad you went the extra 2 inches on this build 😅😅😅😅
Amazing transformation!! Only at DD Speed Shop can you marvel at this kind of Tri-5 goodness!! Sweet ride, Dan. Cheers!! 😎
Love how you did this car from big time junk to a cool 57 ..
I love how the rags used to wash/dry the car are now stopping the cold from coming under the garage door. Pure definition of dual purpose rags. Right on man. Love it
Damn good progress for a parts car that was abandoned! Be proud!

You and Deboss are the few that work on a floor one step above gravel. Keep up the great work in the no trailer queen zone.
If I take my glasses off it looks absolutely perfect and thats exactly what you intended to do. Am I right or what.
You made that 57 look good Dan!
I like it! Looks rough but shiny. Kind of twists your mind.
I like it man. As long as you like it it doesn't matter.

The, Ford style tear drop "Thunderbolt" hood, is an improvement!
DD Speed Shop: beautifying Winnipeg one Tri Five at a time!😎
Shine looks way awsome!!! Better than I expected!!!🎉😲😄😎👍
Oh I’m mad Dan. Mad it’s not mine lol. Love it. Turned out great and I like the trim being in the wrong spot. It fits the car perfectly
Dan I would love to see all your vehicles in one place one day👍🏻
I think it looks Awesome! I wouldnt dull it down it looks perfect
Looks like you tried to make it look sweet in a redneck sort of way.👍
I talked to a friend of mine who has four 57’ Chevys he said he had watched some of the long haired Canadian “he’s a hack” I’m like yeah that’s why I like him 😂
We can't all be perfect right?
Own it proudly.

From heap to street. Great work
its getting 10th grade shop bodywork Dans capable of so much more
LOVE THE OUTCOME OF THE 57. REMINDS ME OF MY FIRST TRI-5 THINK YOU DID A GREAT JOB AND IT'LL BE A BLAST TO DRIVE THANKS DAN AND DANI
I hope you take this one on the Power Tour. Can't wait to see it in person!! LOVE IT!!!

He has a really nice Cobra!
I say leave it shiny! It looks pretty cool!
ide drive the wheels off it..but ide want a 4 speed or 5 speed.. i think Dan Nailed it!!!
Soon as you started spraying the clearcoat, my nose hairs started itching and sticking together😂
Looks great Dan and Dani That blue must have been a beautiful color when it was done
I like it. I have done paint & body work 49 years. Never seen that. But way to go👍
I missed the glass video but i cant help noticing how good the windsheild and rear window looks….is it a custom flush mount glass or just really nice modern tech…..i think its the tint thats makin it pop!!!….either way, you nailed it, like usual!!!
Great jobb .i love that you leave it as is.leave the welding to.no one have done that.just protect it .Sven from Sweden.

It has character. It looks great.
Love it!! Especially when you got it wet (haven’t seen the clear coat yet) and looked like it had a shine added $6,000 right there!! lol
I have a soft spot for Big Frankie. Dans stitched him back together just enough.
Now the glass looks amazing with the trim on.

KEEP IT UP, not all hot rods are meant to be perfect, just fun!
I can honestly say I like this better than most of the whacked out custom paint jobs that cost many $$ Just my opinion.

That trim on that door makes my Head Hurt drill some new holes and line it up not going to hurt the paint
I think it looks great with the clear on it.👍
Back on the road is sometimes all that matters! Keep up the great work and ready for some more camaro videos!
Good video, Dan. It's your car, do what you want with it. You saved it from going to the scrap yard.
Interested to see how the moss does without air! Looking better every time you work on it.
Looks awesome Dan 😂. Seriously I love it. Keep up the good work. Y'all always make this old man laugh.

Would rather see the 57 the way you have it than picked apart like a carcass. It should be a blast on a Saturday night. Great job.
Its perfect! All this work and the first door ding will go unnoticed
My last Cheap paint job,I washed it with SOS dish washing pads IT worked Great 👍
As soon as the clear is dry it becomes a parts bench again.😆
