Took AP Gov in my sophomore year, it was such an easy class for me and I made a 4 on the final exam mostly because of how invested I am in all things politics but Heimler was always there with these videos when I needed it 🙏🏻

I’ve never taken an advanced classes of any kind before due to learning disabilities but I got recommended to ap gov and I’m scared but extremely proud all my work paid off and I made it to this point
AP Gov seems like a picnic compared to the harsh world of other AP history classes, your mileage may vary however.
Gonna be starting it in a couple weeks, on a full year basis (thank GOD). It seems like the exam might be harder than APUSH and AP World, just because it requires more specific memorization than the other exams, and has a different type of essay. The actual course load, however, doesn’t seem as bad as AP World or APUSH.

I have AP Gov next semester and I’m quite excited for the class. I took AP Euro my sophomore year (got a four) and APUSH junior year (got a 5). I actually found APUSH to be easier than euro because I was already used to the course load and rigor, while ap euro was really my first taste of ap level work. It’s all about getting the right study habits as early as you can. This made APUSH way more enjoyable for me despite me preferring European history in general. This guy makes great videos and there are so many other awesome summary videos out there. I don’t really recommend college boards videos because I personally think they suck and aren’t helpful at all, but I do recommend them if you just want to get familiar with the format of the exam. Good luck to anyone starting an AP history class or exam this year!
Hey, how’s your AP Gov class going so far? I’m thinking about taking AP Gov next school year, which will be the first AP class I’m taking. I’ve been researching, and it seems like it’s a “breeze” for many, as it was more laid back than the other AP History classes, but it was such a pain for others due to the difficulty. Are there any strengths you must have, such as memorization? I wouldn’t say I’m an A student, sometimes a B or two here and there, and it’s usually in English. I want to be prepared before I put AP Gov into my course request form. Thank you in advance.
@@thedrumsarecalling I think difficulty of classes like AP gov probably really differ depending by school. It’s probably the easiest ap I’ve ever taken aside from ap environmental science. I don’t really study too much and I’ve been getting 100% on tests so far. The memorization aspect is a lot less here than with classes like bio, and I would say pretty standard for ap history courses, but there is just less content to go over and therefore less memorization overall. You need to know the court cases and vocab and that’s pretty much it. The essays are by far the easiest of any of the humanity classes and if you’re a decent writer you should not struggle in any way. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I was kind of in the middle ground, not knowing whether to choose between Honors or AP. Can you go into the specifics of what you’re going over, such as the court cases you mentioned? Do you go over what happens in court? Do you explore actual court cases? Once again, thank you and I appreciate you.
@@thedrumsarecalling so far we have only mentioned McCulloh vs. Maryland, Marbury vs. Madison, Gibbons vs. Ogden, and US vs. Lopez. We don’t go over what actually happens, but we are doing a simulation where we have to create our own political parties, interest groups, and lobbyists. My teacher has a pretty hands on approach, but once again, that kind of thing differs by school.
my school does 3 trimesters (3 months long each) per school year and i’m taking both ap euro and gov, and ap gov is only second trimester while ap euro is both first and second so i’ll be taking both during the winter 💔

Same, my ap gov teacher only taught us 1 out of the 5 units so I had to learn the rest by myself and I still got a 5. It really depends on a person's strengths tho
