Welcome to Bath. The TK TJ Maxx issue revolved around a once very popular discount department store called TJ Hughes based in Liverpool. And also the X works better as a logo does it not?
I agree, Indian food is probably the greatest thing in the country and I live in London. I know Bath and I would recommend nearby Bristol for an historic, but bigger city vibe.
Sadly lost lots of our pubs that the locals would frequent. There's a few left dotted about but most have gone to be replaced by trendy bars for tourists. Lots of shops that were for Bathonians too, as in what we'd call normal, lost to tourism. Housing has shot through the roof in the past 20+ years and Londoners moved in. Bath isn't what it was when I grew up (I'm 46). That said it's still a pretty place, the job market is good and you can still find those hidden gems. The countryside around the city is beautiful too.
Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in Birmingham I believe?? Someone correct me if I’m wrong. I know the Balti was. Adam you need to get a food guide next time you come to Birmingham and visit all the most notable curry houses (yes that’s what we call them 😄) we have some of the best curries and chefs here uk wide
my wife is a pickle fan for whatever reason and even *she* wouldn't do the heinz x pickle flavor. smokey bacon on the other hand, we would not be opposed to trying that! that indian food sounded amazing definitely the sorta thing I'd look for the first time we go out to one and definitely gonna use the tip about the buffet.
Chicken tikka masala...a man in Glasgow found the tikka too dry, so he asked for a sauce..hey presto, they came up with tikka masala! Nothing to do with the British palate, we love spicy food...generally! ;)
Today we join Adam and his better half as they go to Bath, England. Over the course of the week that this part covers they go to a British grocery store where Adam finds some unique snacks (and pickle ketchup). They also go to various eateries, where Adam struggles to get into a particular Indian establishment due to inconsistent business hours. They also explore old Roman Bath houses from when the town was under Roman rule. - Great work as always Adam.
The food looked awesome and yes, crumpets are different to English muffins and I’d would say superior to them. I loved seeing the Roman stuff in bath. History has always fascinated me. The pasty and fish and chips looked so good but that Indian food looked next level. The first place looked better slightly though. I love the shock on Indian people’s faces when people like us walk in and actually know the cuisine and want it the real way lol
@@AdamEatsTheWorld Honestly, you can get a good Sunday roast for half the price, but it’s true that we are uniquely ripped off by the big corporations!
How ironic that when you waited for the non-opening Indian restaurant, you virtually had your back to the best Indian in Bath. The Mint Room. As for Frankfurt being "better" - what a ridiculous thing to say. Absolutely nothing like each other.
Yes sir, go back and watch season 3. There's an episode where a customer complains about the price of beans being $2,000. That's me...a lot younger, but me. I also did some other minor stuff like being a Stormtrooper and stuff.
Only you would go to Bath and not take the hint that you need one.
TJ Maxx in the UK became TK because another chain store had TJ in the name... I think 🤔
It was a store called TJ Hughes (thanks Wikipedia).
Didn’t know you was in a new relationship, Adam. She seems like a nice girl, I wish you both well.
I've stomped those very grounds, as I did my Masters in Bath! An important part of local Bath history right there ;p
You sir are a master at bathing!

Happy to see a new episode of flying and eating. I love watching these.

Very sweet, cute video!❤ Fun banter. Thanks for brightening my day.

I was there. ;)
Hope you enjoyed your time there!
The Guildhall is the town hall.
I literally just got from a few days' break in Bath yesterday. I had much better weather than you seem to have, judging by my sunburn

During Bath Festival I saw a music performance in your “Cool graveyard thing” on the Walcot Road?
Honestly not sure what the street was.
there used to be a great pub called the Hat and Feathers there. Sadly gone now I believe.
I’m glad you enjoyed Bath Adam, I’m basically from there, I live like 7 miles away.

The"courtyard/square"is a graveyard.
Woah
I’ve been to Bath twice now, and found people incredibly rude and arrogant. Hated the place.
Sorry to hear that.

Never heard of it.
“Butcombe” beer is definitely intended to be crude, as with the names of many, many beers such as “Old Growler” etc 😂
