Word has it, this is set to be the most expensive fireworks event since 1997 with a projected cost of HK$ 12 million (just over US$ 1.5 million). Nearly 40,000 pyrotechnic shells will be fired from five barges in Victoria Harbour. The show will consist of eight scenes and will feature a "Super Fireworks Wall" measuring 1,250 meters long and 300 meters high accompanied by the usual multimedia array of lights, music and LED screens.
