Great video as always! As a longtime resident in England (but not native British) I enjoy hearing your commentary and things that raise your curiosity of England, street, buildings… :)
Thank you for your kind comments...I have no idea what I'm talking about, just love, love England. Feel free to correct me if I say something that isn't correct!
So enjoyed this video and The Wallace Collection and trip to Selfridges. Love the purchases too! For Christmas, maybe another tour of bon marche? But any content is enjoyable! Enjoy your stay in Oxford!
Enjoy your tour! It's fun to see the street scenes. I'd love a good look at all those beautiful old homes which have been turned into museums and shops. Look forward to seeing Oxford! Thank you!
The street scenes, and museum tour are fantastic, especially with your commentary. I know you talk about living life solo but wonder how you manage to get around a huge city like London with such confidence. Are you extremely brave or is it that you have so much European travel experience that navigating about in these cities is second nature to you. I admire you and your ability to embrace life so fully!
Well, I don't film when I'm feeling nervous, so don't get the idea that I'm super confident all the time. I have shaky moment like boarding trains, and getting taxis in Paris. I know London and Paris pretty well so that helps, but I always stay at the same hotels, take taxis when possible (London Cabbies love to talk) and don't film when I'm nervous!!
That familiarity certainly would help. Being your own boss is perfect, because if you aren’t feeling like it, you don’t have to film, and can go to a nice little coffee shop instead!
Yes, well worth it. Intimate and beautiful, plus the cafe is a lovely spot to have a cup of tea or lunch in when you finish your tour. Do put it on your list.
Thank you for offering the tour. I have lived in London since 2009 and seen the building but never visited it. I should. I also used to live in Boston. I enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you for joining me! It is an incredible building, especially considering it was a home. I love those types of museums, as it's an extra bonus to imagine life inside the museum. How wonderful that you live in London. I love that city!
Thank you Sharri! I always enjoy your videos. I can relate somewhat to your travels, we have a house in France & a daughter in Boston, if you ever have a gathering or book signing there, I’d love to come!
Very much enjoyed seeing Oxford Street again and would enjoy seeing more of London and Oxford. The author tour sounds interesting, will it include the famous bookstore town of Hay-on-Wye?
It didn't and that would have been great fun. It wasn't as author focused as I anticipated, but maybe because they are learning how to market tours? We saw C.S. Lewis' home, with other tours to Blenheim Palace, Highclere Castle, as well as two fabulous workshops (one is coming up on this channel). More of London coming up on the videos!
💗Thank you so much, Sharri, for sharing your London outings! I have been to London and have seen it as a rushed tourist, but would love to take a week or two there --maybe a few day trips out of town, weather permitting--and enjoy leisurely. Rain or shine I would visit museums, shop, browse book stores, stop for coffee and "people watch". Any suggestions for accommodations for that length of time? Not knowing how to proceed--no friends think it would be fun--I think it would as I'm great at entertaining myself!🤣💗
So happy to hear you enjoyed the Wallace Collection! Hotels...I love small boutique hotels and my absolute favorite is the Firmdale Group run by Kit Kemp and her husband. I have stayed at their Number Sixteen hotel in south kensington for over a decade now and it never disappoints. I'm staying at their Dorset Square hotel in November because it is closer to some of the holiday shopping I want to do. I have also stayed in their NYC hotels at every one is fabulous, same vibe, comfortable, inspiring....need I go on? Even if you never leave the hotel, you'll have a fabulous time!
I spoke to Guerlain directly and they don't seem to care that the older cases don't work with the new cases. What color did you buy? It looks like a very lovely color.
Never heard of this artist but the work is colorful and uplifting...
Me either but she is incredible!!

Thank you for joining me! I agree...would love to see inside the homes. Window peeking and a lot of imagination is all we can get.
Love these street tours; so fun!
Thank you for "walking" with me! I have no idea what I'm doing but I love sharing what I'm seeing with you.

Loved the walk- please add more local walks. Are you still living in Paris part time?
Animal print leopard is always in style.
You are so right, but now the young have just discovered its versatility, it's new and fresh!
Beautiful poster
It is. Now I have to get it framed!

Ahh...marketing and sales right? I have on 06 sometimes and other times 03.
I love Guerlain lipsticks! What color did you buy?
06 and 03!! My go to...love them.
Marri-le-bone (Marylebone) 😊
thank you!
You were looking for "The Duchess of Duke St" about King Edward VII's mistress. BTW its not Recoco art movement it's Rococo'.
Thank you! You are so correct and that's what I love about our community...so many know so much more than me, so I get to learn in the process!!
You beat me to it! 🙂 I loved that mini-series! I saw it about 25 years ago & would love to watch it, again!
Mar-le-bone is how area pronounced
Oh good...I struggled with how to say that word. Thank you!!! It's a beautiful area of London even if I can't pronounce it!!
