Thanks for sharing these precious informations with all of us. I am about to buy a new harmonica, and I was slightly doubtful between the two versions of the Super 64, but after watching this recording I absolutely wiped all the doubts off. Thank you very much.
Instant fan subscriber here, from Australia. I love how you can make the harmonica sound Celtic. How do you slide around on the mouthpiece so fluidly. I have a Super Chromonica 270. A 16 hole like the one in this video is a life goal! Blessings to you!
Thank you Maestro Aki! I am playing with the button pressed in which is ideal for playing Irish music as it emulates fiddle rolls identically and plays closer to the tradition. The fluid playing is what is called 'piston technique.' I have a video on my channel that goes into that in more debt if you wanna check it out. If you are thinking of buying a Super 64X Performance I say go for it, you won't be disappointed! Thanks for your lovely comments and bless you too!
I'd say both are good but I suppose it comes down to the thickness of the reed plates and the volume and tone. Super 64X has all that and more. I haven't played a Siruse in ages but from what I remember it was brilliant alright. I actually re-tuned it to Diminished tuning which worked out fantastic!
I recently purchased a similar model called the Super 64 Performance. I'm a little disappointed with it because several reeds give poor response and tone. They are the 2 and 3 draw notes. Have you noticed any poor performing reeds on the Super 64X?
No such problems with the Super 64X. It is hard to assess your problem with your comment as you give no indication as to what exactly is wrong with it. For example, I suggest that it is perhaps your embouchure. If not and it is indeed a faulty harmonica from the factory and you recently purchased it you can have it replaced or repaired.
@@CathalJohnsonHarmonicas Thank you for your reply. Others have told me that the problem I have experienced is because of embouchure and I must adjust my technique and and skill set to play these notes. But if we use the analogy of playing a piano and the middle C key is not as responsive and requires a different pressure to play I would have the piano fixed. If I buy a harmonica with the quality of the Super 64 I would expect that each reed should play equally well with the same tonal quality. If all the other reeds sound perfect, the 2 and 3 draw notes should sound equally well. It is not a matter of embouchure.
@@andrewjohn3288 If you are having problems with the two low notes on the draw, then I bet it is indeed your embouchure, you are bending the notes unknown to yourself. How long are you playing? It took me years to play low notes on a chromatic to get the correct tone. Even when I thought I was playing them good an expert harmonica player came to visit me and pointed out that I was playing them wrong. Make a video and show me. Otherwise I recon it is indeed your own fault. Your piano analogy doesn't really stand up. How about a wind instrument analogy for example a tin whistle, flute, saxophone trumpet all depend on correct embouchure. If you want you can contact me via my website www.harmonicasireland.com and get to the bottom of it. Where are you based ie live?
@@CathalJohnsonHarmonicas If incorrect embouchure is the problem, then all of the notes would have the same problem. It is only the 2 and 3 hole draws that give me difficulty. These reeds seem to be different from all the rest. Thanks for letting me rant about this pet peeve of mine.
@@andrewjohn3288 Not really no. Incorrect embouchure is mostly revealed in the lower notes. To a degree you are right though, all notes suffer from incorrect embouchure and so your tone is effect throughout the harmonica, just less identifiable. The best way to test this is to use a tuner. Where are you from and how long are you playing?

That's great Aengus, check out my website if you are looking to buy a harmonica here: www.harmonicasireland.com
This is the 16 hole chromatic that I want. The lower notes come through loud and clear. It has an overall superior sound.
It sure does have a superior sound. A great harmonica. The sound comes from the double reed plate on this Super 64X x standing for double

Which 16 chromatic harmonica is better between super 64x performance and siruse 16 ?

Good
imboccatura di precisione: larga con lingua a sinistra
Tiene buena pinta esa harmónica 👀👀👏👏👍👍
It sounds even better than it looks! ;)

Where are you from and how long are you playing?
Is it big cxn?
It is the new Hohner Super 64X Performance model. Double reed plates give it it's extra volume and response.
🎉🎉🎉🎉wonderfullll
Who taught Johnni Verdi to play harmonica?
