I have know that knot (Mathew Walker kont) 17 years, with out knowing the name of it. To day, i finely know the name. Thank you! And a great way, to tie it. I have ben having a hard time, teaching it to others. I dont know what its name in Denmark. That bottle knot is called Tyrkisk sækkebånds knob (Turkish-sack-band-knot).
Heyo Tim! Thank you for all the great tutorials and guides. Really new to paracord project started a few weeks ago. One project that been kinda in my mind is the old japanese style sandal called Waraji. It was made with woven rice stalks in ancient japan. Curious if that's a project you'd might be interested in? I know it's definitely out of the normal.
Could you make a video on making a necklace with a paracord bead? It might have to be two different pieces of string I'm guessing. It's just difficult because the hole is vertical
What you need there is a bend to join the two ends with one end hanging down that you can poke through the bead and finish with a stopper knot. A weavers knot(ABOK 1418) would work and is quite simple, but there are prettier bends and bows out there You could also make a normal necklace/bracelet and use a paracord needle to feed some cord through, like a piercing. Tie a nice single-strand stopper knot on one end, put the bead on the other, tie another stopper, and it'll hang down vertically
I love the stopper knot configuration on this, i have used many a bottle sling (mostly for carrying my soda bottles at work rather than setting them down) but i never thought about a permanent carry one. Side note: you should take a look at how First Class Amateur shows off tying the jug sling in his recent video on it. It’s much easier than the folding ears method, and just requires you to push a bight through a window and it all falls into place. Edit: link to video th-cam.com/video/teI1NQU4QdQ/w-d-xo.html
If this is the more recent version he posted, it's less secure than the original, which First Class Amateur ties with simple over hand stopper knot at one end and the bight of the soft shackle on the other end.
Nothing wrong with that Matthew Walker stopper knot, but I've been doing the same thing with a simple overhand stopper knot at one end and just the bight on the other end for years with no issues, and it can be hung just the same as yours with the Walker knots.

That's the first time I've seen a Mathew Walker tied that way, as well as the sling knot. The second camera angle helps. Thanks.
You're welcome, glad I could show you something new! Thanks for stopping by!
