Wow. I've heard that Darren is a legendary coach and I knew that he coached those players but when you list all those players together like that you really can appreciate the caliber of players he produced. He makes champions.
Such valuevable insight! How would you approach changing ones tactics against a specific player? I have one student who is a grinder, but always leaves a short ball first and gets attacked. What should he do to be in a possition to attack first?
I think he has to attack the short ball but in his way like Darren was saying. If he doesn’t do anything with it that’s where he just becomes a pusher. At the end of the day he does have to be able to change direction on it at least and then come to net when he does hurt then to finish. He should follow what Lleyton Hewitt does
I’ll make another video on this. But meaning I teach textbook tennis.. however players come up with weird ways to hit because that is their body’s most efficient way to hit. So based on their technique can I get them to move well enough to hit the ball cleanly for their technique. Hope that makes sense :)

Great piece of knowledge that he dropped there!
Good thing I came across this video. Reassures me that I shouldn't force myself to play in ways that I'm not confident or comfortable.
Thanks Coach 🙏 excellent thoughts and lessons! Appreciate 👍🎾

Are you a full time coach?

Brilliant vid and insight. Especially pertinent for me as a player and my young sons development
Thank you!! Definitely have to coach around the personality 👍
Good points
What exactly do you mean when saying to “teach technique within the confines of footwork and timing”? Can you expand on that?
