Love these little bastards. Though I've never owned one, they were frequent presence in track days here in Brazil, back in the mid-00's...the XR offered with the 95-hp 1.6 Zetec Rocam was a pocket rocket. I also liked the 'Black' special edition, with more luxurious interior (basically leather seats, lol). The facelifted model released in 2001 (different tail lights) was cool, but I always preferred the original design. I also remember driving it back in the early 00's, in the Ford Racing 2001 PC game. The game wasn't that great but had nice graphics for the era and also had quite a cool soundtrack! Thanks for the video, Joe! 👍
@@gabrielv.4358 Our 2nd generation Ka was quite a bit bigger, based on the 1996-2002 Ford Fiesta, IIRC. It was, in a way, like a 2-door Fiesta with a slightly different, slightly more boxy body style, the same way our Chevrolet Celta was based on the Opel Corsa B, sort of made as a "lower cost" alternative. But the 2nd gen had more internal space. In the overall, still a very good car although I prefer the 1st generation. 😁👍🏻
I had one of these, it was the 59hp version.. It was my first car.. I remember it for three reasons.. Firstly, it was my first car, secondly, it was a diet coke can on 4 wheels, thirdly, I had the absolute piss taken out of me daily.. (6ft 4, male, straight) But I still loved it! 😂 And it was slow.. Oh so very slow..
Here in Brazil, the Ka of this generation does not have an electric rear view mirror. Is it common in your country? Can i import a set to put on a Ka here? I would need the internal frame and the pair of motorized mirrors.
I used to own one with the Briels trim (fully loaded) the only downside of these is rust and they're aren't as economical as you might think of it's size. Other wise a cool funky little cars

But our 1.0l version that was revised, it has really poor low end torque, the torque only appears at 4000 revs
