I think this track is showing one characteristic of serpent clan - determination. Serpent clan does not believe that some divine deity (dragon) will save them. They are pragmatic - they will use what works and is reliable. They know the world is dangerous and they are willing to use every means to wage war. They don't care for honor, because there is no difference between dishonorable and honorable corpse. No matter the odds, they will fight tooth and nails because they are determined to survive.
I believe you are romanticizing them too much, they are just evil for being evil sake, they don’t care about the consequences of their actions. Kenji’s father was an evil man and thus he made the perverted version of the dragon clan which is the serpent, but it is implied that his grandfather and before were all dragon clan. The Ronin quotes summarize this perfectly: “Destroy the weak” and “Rule through power”

This always sounded more like a Dragon theme to me than Serpent, since Serpent is the more "evil" of the two. The non-combat version of this track sounds so inspiring!

Serpent Clan is so awesome - Compare to Dragon Clan they have cooler units, nice soundtrack and cool Zen Masters. If only Serpent Kenji would not be such a massive prick. The things we do as SC in the campaign are so nasty, that I have some problems playing as them. And it is not like I am against playing as the bad guys. The problem with Battle Realms that to choose a side we need to kill or protect peasents - it is something more than pushing a button in campaign select screen.
The first generation of the Serpent clan were survivors of a terrible catastrophe and later on were betrayed by the Lotus who were supposedly their allies. They had to be cunning and pragmatic if they were to ensure their own survival. Being honorable and compassionate are secondary because look where that got the Dragon clan of old.
Best theme in the game. btw, there's a program called Moyea that allows you to download videos from sites like youtube. Don't know if the resulting file can be converted to mp3 or played on consoles or whatnot, but you can use wmp or the included Moyea player to watch it.
It is the best music... I guess I would love Serpent more if they weren't Dragons direct opposite. Their missions were also way easier to be won than that of Dragons. But music is so iconic, reminds me on low level camera put through an autumn forest, with bandits, geishas, and Shinja leading the way to new victories

Gameranger has been and still is the only place where the competitive community resides. They've been using that since Gamespy died. . However, with the release of the Steam version, it seems like Gameranger will finally be replaced. But that can only happen when the Steam multiplayer is fixed because right now, only 2 players can battle and sync errors still happen. So, for now, most people stick with Gameranger as that is where all the cool 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 action takes place.

the memories man...... Serpent holm mission was so hard. And i love it when i finally beated Lotus and Wolf, it felt so good.

The Serpent clan isn't evil. They're survivors who are willing to do anything to make sure they don't make the mistakes the old Dragon clan did.
