A DAY-TRIP TO HAKONE/Hakone Free Pass/Owakudani/Hakone Shrine/Lake Ashi

- Hakone, located in the west of Tokyo, is a mountainous town known for its hot springs resorts (onsen) and views of the iconic volcano Mount Fuji. It is only an hour and a half away from Tokyo by train. It also encompasses Hakone Shrine, a Shinto shrine with a red “torii” gate overlooking Lake Ashi, which can be toured by boat, as well as the boiling sulphur springs of the Owakudani Valley.
You can go on a day-trip to Hakone, enjoy the beautiful nature and visit the famous attractions and museums. Use the Hakone Freepass to travel around Hakone and avail the multiple modes of transport unlimited times in 2 days - the Hakone Tozan Railway, Hakone Tozan Cable Car and buses, Ropeway and Sightseeing Cruise.

Hello Vincent! Thanks for the visit! I went there November 23rd. If you go there in early October, it’s must be cool already like around 20 degrees but the leaves haven’t changed to autumn colors yet. Have a good day! 😊
