Some excellent filming. I particularly like the ambulance in the pouring rain at 2:08 (two-tone sirens are so much more bearable than that horrible rising and falling wail), and some cool lights on those two fire engines at 1:25.
The high-low, two tone sirens are easier to hear from a distance, which makes them more suitable in an urban enviroment when you really want to make yourself announced. It doesn't sound nice, but it's very effective. The more modern "American" wailing is tougher to pick up from a distance.
@LC Officer UNIT 97 They are very effective at emitting a sound over a great distance. That's why these emergency response vehicles always use the high-low sirens coming close to an intersection, to really make themselves heard, while going with the classic "American" wailing sound on straights where much less risk of a collision is involved, to spare the public. I agree the sound is really nice. Simple, but nice. I guess you already knew all of this, but I cannot know.
