P2135 TPS 1&2 Correlation Fault on a modified throttle body - Holden Commodore VZ Engine light on

  • In this video, we get a VZ commodore in with the engine light on. We find a TPS error but the system has a modified supercharger and throttle body system. We work out how to test it and decipher the results from the tests to confirm what the issue is. Check it out.

    What a nightmare, it can be so frustrating dealing with aftermarket crap like that, difficult to find out what's a known good or acceptable result when testing.
    I hope you charged accordingly for all the additional efforts required.

    The VZ LS1 has a convoluted electronic throttle body set up.
    The signals go to that module up behind the kick panel on the passenger footwell and then to the throttle body.
    Just a good thing that tracking down the source of the fault was forward of the harness plug.
    One of the guys on our Commodore forum found issue with the signal at the pedal, of which the factory wiring diagram is incorrect.
    So things could have become not fun.
    A good watch.
    I’ll say that using that VE throttle body will be an increasingly common mod as the VZ throttle bodies are becoming harder to get at realistic prices.
    Used pedal is over a grand!

    Just got my butt kicked by a Madza 3 with this same code. Customer threw a throttle body at it already. When cleaned. The code stays off for a bit. App 1&2 are good but the check light comes on intermittently and the TPS keep flagging from time to time.

    I'm a firm believer in the K.I.S.S approach...Keep It 'Standard' Stupid. Manufacturers spend millions of dollars and a lot of time to get things right and then knobs come along and modify stuff thinking they can do better🤷🤣👍🇦🇺

    I'm pretty sure that signal is the ecm checking for a reference point. Was that aftermarket throttle body moving in the opposite direction?

    No warranty if aftermarket parts are used . No fun chasing your tail .
