You can build corridors with solar panels and batteries anywhere, they don't have to be connected to your base at all. That would keep your base exactly as you want it and not an enormous mess of compartments and corridors that you have to navigate. Edit: That counts for the miners too - you can drop a corridor with a miner anywhere and will be connected to power automatically. Also, any time you log in the game the resources respawn, so wherever you found the nickel is where you need to go again. The changes from the prologue are great, I might just buy the game on the 10-th. There is a lot of new places to go and explore and it looks a lot more fun :)
18:47 In the second ball structure where you scanned the Skipper, those two asteroids were nickle, IIRC. I'm sure you've already found it by now, but there's a large nickle asteroid field suitable for a corridor mining laser behind the Theta-9 tube connecting the two large asteroid mines. There's also a Bio-dome below the nickle asteroid field. I set up my mining laser platform just above the dome's structure. Watch out for the attack drones back there and if you get targeted, use reverse and strafe to avoid their weapons while shooting them with your laser tool. They may be attack drones, but they don't know how to lead their target.
"But I don't have a power cell charger" says as power cell charger, which is right next to the battery charger, is scrolled passed. You did pick that blueprint up. Got instant Breathedge vibes when starting to watch the series, has me curious to see where it goes, especially with that roadmap.
more and more sold on this, very much like Subnautica where you get gated by a "rare ore" then you stumble across the motherload and things accelerate like crazy
In the prologue they didn't include the Docking Bay, just put the upgrade modules in the vehicle station. The huge purple tree-like thing in the yellow dome near the vertical station is a purple celestite growth. Scan it with your miner tool and it will tell you to use the miner on it. yields about 8-10 celestite.
I couldn't really get into Occupy Mars. I don't know why. I still prefer Planet Crafter but this game still has a lot of new stuff coming. Anything is possible.
@ I certainly prefer playing Planet Crafter the most. Occupy Mars I really liked the concept and the early play but I found the lag very annoying, and I thought it got a little repetitive once you had got all the elements in place. I wonder if Astrometica go the same way. But the roadmap is very impressive, so we shall see!
Unless they changed it to require power physically connected to sections/machines, I just made a power station that was just one long corridor with solar panels and batteries. I just added more sections to the length as I needed more power.
The research center is built in its own building. It's the one that looks like it would be a command center. At least that's how it worked in the old demo from a year ago.
Always try to keep 100 surplus energy, every time you go under that 100 surplus, time to add Solar panels, and I believe you should be able to anchor solar to the side of the cube buildings. (that might be one to be researched) OH - did you turn off the auto miner? I was like.. wait.. did they.. I hope not. Also with the AUTO MINER machines they turn off once they have 'mined' everything in range, those things floating space rocks respawn, so they are all gone, miner turns off, they respawn.. etc etc. If you put an auto miner in an area that has a ton of materials, they will never turn off because they will never mine fast enough to remove all the materials in space.
I actually did turn it off at one point. I thought that I had switched it on but it went on automatically just as I manually switched it on, and it was off. I will find a balance with the power, eventually.
Try crouching while placing the Research Machine to get it to place. Until you get the power cell charger, you can put empty power cells in the Recycler then rebuild them, and they will have full charge.
What you can do is four or five corridors in another part with two batteries above and below and that gives you more room for the solar panels, that is, a separate corridor with two panels, battery above and below and so on, so that you have room for the lasers to put them in the base.
You are the first person I've seen who, when you drill a rock, just accept the ores/crystals that go into your inventory, but do NOT chase after the ores and crystals that fly around after the larger rock breaks aparrt.
Hello my friend. I follow you from Türkiye. I enjoy watching all your videos. However, the subtitle option was off in your last 2 videos. For this reason, I cannot understand you. I kindly ask you to turn on the subtitles. Have fun playing.
Think the vehicle upgrade fabricator is meant for another bay due to the docking station being oval. Not played the game so could be off there by astronomical units lol I was already thinking about the design of stations in these games having curved corners, which is cool looking, but leaves dead space. Would be super cool if devs could units that conform to the existing space so one could optimise the rooms. Since units are materialised with a gun, it would make sense that the units could me malleable in their formation.
@@surtrplays Yeah. I studied landscape design, not game development Using curves is a lot easier to do when you can design a flowerbed, for example, to conform to a wall! lol

Didn't know that. I will try building a separate solar array when the game drops. Thanks.
Oh wow, I will try that. Thanks very much.

Excellent progress . . . I know you will figure out the vehicles. I am really looking forward to getting this next week!
Thanks for watching and enjoy.
Nickel is found in the caves in the asteroids out in open space too
Really enjoying the series :)
Seems I need to pay more attention to my surroundings.
You got a few nice upgrades, along with some very good progress on your main base. :)
Plenty of exploring ahead, too! 👍
Definitely, lots to do. Thanks for watching.
I really enjoy the progress of your base
Thank you very much.

Really. I need to get my eyes checked. It is a pretty interesting game. I'm really enjoying it.
Nice expansion. I enjoy watching your playthroughs. I hope that you are enjoying this game and will continue to do so as you explore it further.
I'm glad you enjoy watching my playthroughs. I really do like this game. It has a lot to offer.

...but that sucker takes a L O O N G time to mine with the mining tool. 😓
@ Oh yes. I remember that.
Might be able to attach an airlock right to a habitat. Without needing a corridor in-between. Or at least without needing a large corridor in-between.
Yes, you can. I added the corridor because I wanted space for all on my storage and for the power stuff.
@@surtrplays If I recall you can put solar panels, auto miners and batteries on airlock. But I get having the space for wall storage.
Good series and a great future roadmap. Do you like this one better than Planet Crafter? Did you ever try Occupy Mars?

Let's hold thumbs. It is looking good so far.

I'll have to check that out. Sounds good.
I'm not 100% positive, but you missed some Nickel ore in the big sphere on the right side. Love the vids! I'm tuning in for more as they come.
Thanks! I'll go back and check it out.
FYI, I mentioned your banger of a line about Space Donuts on Z1 Gaming's playthrough of Astrometica (E3).
I hope you don't mind.
Phil the Cat
No worries. Fine with me. I didn't know Z1 was covering this.
The research center is built in its own building. It's the one that looks like it would be a command center. At least that's how it worked in the old demo from a year ago.

make more base stations, so oxygen is never a problem, and you can add storage boxes to them, so they use no power
The oxygen problem will a thing of the past, very soon.
You may need to check the resources in those black Ball things
I will go and have another look.
Can You Build Up and maybe add some solar panels to the Up segments ?
I'm going to have to check.
Hey when you get the research centre you can use the blueprint boxes to unlock new things
Thanks very much.
I wonder if you need to habitats stacked on each other for the research station - it looks tall
No. It turns out that I just needed to use the middle mouse button to push it away from me slightly.
@@surtrplays ah, nice. Mystery solved :)

I might have done that once or twice when I played the prologue.
Can u put solar panel on the end of another one
The are solar panel extensions.
All you need to do is build an air lock wherever you are doing your mining.
Interesting. I might do that.
The auto miner might shut off or go idle when there is nothing in range even if the storage has space.
I will keep an eye on it.
@@surtrplays Could also be turning off due to power spikes.
The vehicle module fabricator goes on the sides of the vehicle room, just rotate it.

I think it is really tough to make buildables to cover both. I'm not terribly unhappy with how it works. There is a lot of space around.

can u put an airlock on one of the abandoned buildings alos i have built a stand alone corridor for power a square set of coridors
Oh nice!
Use your scanner in space and caverns to find minerals like nickel
Thanks. I didn't even think of that.
try rotating it
I needed to Zoom with the middle mouse button.
the auto miner might be kicking out because its sources keep depleting. i couldn't get a good look though.
I will watch it to see what happens.

have you played a game called aska?
I have the game but I haven't had time to play it.
