Jahman Borneo Form is important but thats not what injures these guys, its the multi ply suits and blasting steroids to just completely push their bodies past anything remotely normal
I’m a powerlifter and go to a garage gym 6 days a week, I visited Westside over the summer and No gym I’ve been to has compared to the energy atmosphere in that place
Well if you know anything about weight lifting I grew up in Columbus Ohio I've lived here all my life I know a lot of these guys and I had a 465 raw bench and most of these guys can't even do that they're strong equip lifters but if you remove all that equipment from them some of them strong but a lot of those guys are not even close to what you think of as somebody is like a world-class lifter Chuck was really strong in the early '90s I lifted with him at world's gym on the west side by Westland Mall and Chuck I seen Chuck bench 405 for four with no shirt which is a really strong bench and I was a kid then so I thought that was like world class but in the big picture it's not then he got his neck broke and he couldn't do anything like that on the bench ever again but I don't even know if very many of those guys can bench 500 which is a world-class bench but without the suit I'd say a few of them can but not that many
I met the Westside gang at the local power lifting meet here in Newark, Ohio. Shook Louie’s hand and all. These guys are the real deal, their passion for the sport is unreal.
Despite the high squats, the gear, and execution of their competition lifts, you cant deny the ruthlessness of that gym. It was a counter culture. The culture, passion, and rawness of everything makes westside so memorable. If you've never been in a similar environment, you won't fully apprexiate it. Can't wait to see this
Really enjoyed watching this. Much better than I had anticipated. I remember training there with Lou in the early 90's before it went back to the Elite only garage gym set up. Chuck, Jeff Chorpenning and Lou were very gracious in showing me how to train.
Jim Bech ... LOL! That was funny dude! I don't use their style of training but whether you like them or not, Westside Barbell and Louie Simmons are powerlifting icons. Like Hoff said, everybody knows Westside and Louie. I hope this makes it to Netflix or wherever because it just looks cool.
Im so fucking excited for that, since every criticism is legit. He also has a copy of the interview footage, in case the editors try to make him look like a bad guy and dont show the whole thing. Im mainly excited for the facebook shitstorm thou.
"the majority of them all use westside principles" Name one world class strongman who does the DE/ME method three to four times a week? I'll save you - none. Let me guess - anyone who has ever used a band, or chain, is doing westside?
Pfff yeah fuck Chad Wesley Smith right? I mean the guy basically qualified to go to the olympics, without a coach. Then he went ahead and squatted 800 in his first powerlifting meet wearing nike frees. Then after two strongman competitions he won a pro card. He is coaching the top powerlifters, drug tested and non tested in the world. Andy Huang, Steven Gentili, Tee Popoola, Marisa Inda, just to name a few. But what he is doing is probably retarded and they would all see better progress, by doing random exercises and putting chains on barbells right? Now you tell me to quit sucking Chads dick, but I'll advice you to get Dave Hoffs high squatting dick out of your ass first. Have a nice day.
Crossfitter: Oh my god, I just did 20 kip-ups and 20 Kettlebell swings for time, I'm so blitzed. Westside: You haven't even earned the right to lube when we rape you.
I went to a gym like this back in the late 80s and 90s.... alot of them were like this...no sippy cups there boys.... just raw iron.... Westside was the pinnacle!!! And all gyms wanted to copy back then
I'm not a powerlifter and really couldn't care less about the topic. I'm just here to tip my cap to that thumbnail shot. That's pure 80's early 90's dad shit right there. Feathered hair, jorts, clean ass mustaches and t shirts tucked into jeans/jorts. Hitting the gym, going to the bar, picking fights, blowing out out some bar rat afterwards, going to the factory job.. ah, those were the days.
"Put that in this fucking documentary....." Also, you gotta love ya'self some good ol' powerlifting beef, especially people arguing over training methods. Which frankly, is 11 different kinds of hilarious to me.
I flew from Canada to Columbus 12 years ago this summer trained west side for two months..looking forward to see this one. They must of cooled it down for this video..lol!
So man powerlifter loses his finger 30 years later he's in a life and death situation where he needs to grip onto a bar or he would fall into a pit of acid The bodybuilder in that situation does strict pull ups and asks how many times does he need to save his life
RIP Louie! Thanks for the doco team, watched it twice now. Would love to know if there is extra footage? The doco didn't last long enough for me. Great stuff team and go WSBB!!
Wow, I cant believe Louie let them make this... I first learned of WB when I competed in the Keystone State Game 18 and under Powerlifting. I remember being told never to ask about WB... If I was worthy I would be told!
Numerous people have reached out to the creator(s) of the documentary, regarding an estimated release date, and so far=CRICKETS. Initially, they said it would be out in early 2018, but their silence since mid-April does not bode well.
Split the group in half: - Group A maintains their regiment. - Group B maintains their regiment, yet adds high cardiovascular; 100 meter sprints, bleachers, 180+bpm. I'd like to see A vs B.
Full disclosure…..I take my preworkout and watch this before the gym. And I’ve been doing it once or twice a week for like 3 years. That’s not just me right. “They’ve pushed the limits of the human Body BWWWWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!
If you're a powerlifter or not...their intensity is contagious.

The jump onto a box at 1:05 is the most insane thing I think I have ever seen. And I've dropped acid at a dinosaur museum.
Lmao... Memories.. Oh the memories..
At dinosaur museum? Really? That's interesting .
WOW!!! That's sayin' some serious shit, bro...!
(that was a hell of a jump, no joke)
This might seem random Sam Smith, but so have I!
Man that sounds like a hell of a trip...lol
Westside vs planet fitness
That's one heck of a comparison!
Ahahahahaha. I got crazy when you said that.
Will there be pizza?
FUCK YEAH. I'D PAY TO WATCH THAT
Westside would have a lot of cardio equipment to throw around..
I was the strongest in my life when I trained at WSBB. Louie and Chuck V pushed me to a 625 bench at 237lbs. What a great time in my life!
Did you ever meet Tilt or Matt Dimel? Good to hear about your time there!
I met the Westside gang at the local power lifting meet here in Newark, Ohio. Shook Louie’s hand and all. These guys are the real deal, their passion for the sport is unreal.
I wouldn`t mind paying a big amount of money to see this documentary! This seems to be the greatest thing I have ever seen!
Hahaha

I never said that Westside wasn't iconic. The documentary definitely looks interesting.
Oh, I know. That was just a general comment. :) It does look really interesting!
Lmao
I never used Louie Simmons' "Westside Barbell" training methods, but can't wait to watch the documentary.
this is way better than generation iron pure untamed rage and strength
Have you seen it? It was good?
LOL, Chad Wesley Smith, one of the more outspoken critics of the Westside method, actually got interviewed in this film. Shit just got real...
Im so fucking excited for that, since every criticism is legit. He also has a copy of the interview footage, in case the editors try to make him look like a bad guy and dont show the whole thing. Im mainly excited for the facebook shitstorm thou.
