When straight after Sanremo La Rappresentante di Lista announced they wanted to try representing San Marino at Eurovision, I was overjoyed, because their song "Ciao ciao" had really won me over at Sanremo. But as it turned out, they weren't even in the selection - I guess it must have been too late to apply. Now that San Marino has picked Achille Lauro I'm kind of surprised, because it's not necessarily a safe choice, but I'm pleased, too. It'll definitely make the competition more interesting!
For the sake of the contest it's interesting Daniela. I kind of loved ciao ciao as well and I know they were exploring applying for San Marino! I think they were late as you said. A girl from the Czech Republic got knocked out of their NF and sent in same song to San Marino and got accepted so just imagine of same happened with ciao ciao...I would have loved that song in Turin :-)
I liked the song from the off but LOVED it from the chorus. Love the punk rock vibe,. It's a catchy tune, the Eurovision crowd will join in with the "heys" just like they did with Mahmood's Soldi clap clap. As a Maneskin and Achille Lauro fan, I see them as totally original and separate artists.

I always had a strange love for San Marino in the competition. Moreover, when I'm sad, I turn on Say na-na-na by Serhat. Regarding their new contest, his charisma stands out more than his song. Maybe I got this impression after a bit of amateur shooting from the national final (no offense to the San Marino, given their resources, they are great). Everything will be clear after the semifinals in Turin, but l can say for sure that this song will qualify.

Achille is not the greatest singer, it's always more about him performing than actually liking his songs. He did'nt do anything wild this time, so we'll see how it goes.

I think this is one that is going to grow on me over time. I do like the chorus, but some of the verses I am not so keen on. But that might just be the way he performs it live, in a very laid-back kind of way. But the chorus does have that rocky sing-a-long vibe, maybe 70's/early 80's style rock. There will be an audience for this, so interested to see how it does in Turin. By the way, he could have actually entered with his San Remo entry if he wanted to. Elis Mraz from the Czech selection entered the San Marino selection with the same song this year. She then apparently got controversially disqualified due to her performance being longer than 3 minutes.
There is definately an audience for this sound Terry!!!!! If had no idea they could continue with the same song. I saw Elis was in the running but had no idea with the same song! Interesting!!!!!!!!!
I have to say Achille has nothing to do with Maneskin and actually he has nothing to do with Eurovision. And San Marino. He is risking a lot just for popularity in the short term.
