Small block fords are being used more and more as the SBC supply dwindles, but SBFs will never match GM in the numbers produced. A common jab I hear is a chevy guy telling a ford guy that his chevy parts are much cheaper and more plentiful, to which the ford guy replies maybe, but i have to build my Ford only once !

73 super beetle. ironically, I just installed a Duraspark distributer from an 02 ford on my formerly fuel injected 86 ford f 150. naturally, it has no points. in this case,i did use the new tech.
She's listin' a few degrees to PORT.... Are those wires made from just regular barbed wire or are they hand made from copper wire? Looks like copper wire to me. Love the idea, but SOMEBODY's going to get lit up reaching in there...

@@boevatt9152 its a 10 ton lift... that old truck is not even a strain on it... I just had not ever adjusted it since it was new.. just one of those things I never got around to haha
I tried running all three.. I could jet them down almost lean enough but it over heated...INSTANTLY! haha.. SOMEone ran three on SOMEthing.. because that old manifold was homemade probably in the 40's or 50's? that manifold will only fit the first gen 6's. the 216s and 235's are a bigger block.. fun stuff ain't it!
Not sure what I enjoyed more, the sound of that old six, the beautiful scenery, or the view from that old truck! But put it all together, and wow what fun!
Good to get it back on the road again. I started following on the dogelac, your video let's build a rat rod was very inspiring to me. Now I'm driving my 1st build the 39 chevy named Valda. I'm currently working on my 2nd build a 1960 vw bug on a lifted 4x4 toyota chassis. Thanks for your inspiration and know that I am so blessed to share all this with my grandkids 😁👍
I love seeing those air cleaners. Such memories! Sometime when you are running a holesaw in aluminum try using ice water instead of oil. Works great and is cleaner.

the very first 235 was first built in 1941 for big trucks and was put in passenger cars in 1950..but it still had babbit rods.. it didn't get a fully pressurized oil system until 1953.

I did the math, and I've been watching since early 2011. You had built this truck by then. But, the first videos I watched were the progress of this truck being built. I was fresh out of high school and used to watch over breakfast as a freshman in college. Somewhere I have a burned disc with an animation project (that had you in the credits at the end) because I used the engine sounds of this old truck running down the road in it, probably in 2012.
Ah, the satisfaction of driving something you have built. I'm looking forward to my next Goofy Cart test drive! I well remember the beginnings of the Rockabilly Rat rod.
