I think Gus is trying to be very careful with Mac. Mac's age is a very sensitive matter and he is being very aware of his every move while Mac looks more carefree and touchy! Both of them are very handsome and the series was very good! I hope we get to see them again in another series together.
They just work together,tone down series,both are professional actor for10 years,. In this series ,they look the same age and I think they are the good actors.

@veevanglak8147 i haven't read the book of the series is based upon but I do remember the original Chinese series and all the controversies surrounding it. It was a shame it was never completed but also maybe not if they followed the novel
I never tire of expressing deep disappointment with this appallingly mediocre script. It gets worse with each episode. The same goes for the direction and some of the performances. They had no right to trash an iconic classic of the BL industry so much to sell trinkets and make crude merchandising. 👎🏻🤮
