It's what most companies do nowadays, Apex Legends, Escape from Tarkov and then they make another change that would be the original change they planned and the community celebrates thinking they won
They did not listen to the community, this was their idea from the start. They did the exact same kind of event last year. The socks are a currency that goes to an inventory, every time they do a currency there needs to be a place to spend the currency. The whining did not change anything.
There probably was a part 2 but they definitely added things to it from the backlash off part 1. The event shop is around 7,000 socks which is more than double the cap of 3000.
I'm gonna guess they had this event already prepared but they were waiting to see whether we'd be satisfied with the first one so they wouldn't have to give us more rewards, Hence why there was no notice that this is an addition to the first event or anything like that.
Yesterday I did my couple runs of farming, the usual guild siege ( my guild is mostly inactive, spent 30$ for some scrolls. I had a sensation of dissatisfaction and I was probably gonna log next month or next good event. Game felt kind of dead. Hopefully those 100 scrolls give me something new I can play with.
Shop was coming in already, as you could save the stocking so the way to spend them is being released after, like they do all the itme, all they did probably was only removing the 3k limit

I have a question. Since the hive launcher update I can not buy any packs, it sends me to the browser and let me buy one but when it goes back to the game it says transaction cancelled. I also noted that I was charged for it. Any idea what's going on?
Slightly saved. It will require a ridiculous amount of energy still to reach the thresholds to achieve all of the best rewards. I doubt brand new players will ever gather 3500+ stockings.
i think this was the plan all along. because if they give us all of this at once we would still compare it to 200 free 10yr scrolls and called it trash. now they calm us down without giving us what community expected :D
this isn't an "extra" event it was planned already, like what were you collecting the socks for and then spend them on nothing? So this isn't a result of the community and they kept quiet about the backlash cuz they knew they were still dropping something. So in the end it was all for nothing.
@Seiishizo eh feels a lil weak for a reason that this wasn't already a planned event to come i mean they haven't addressed anything like at all so they knew if they just released the next part of the event it would shut down the people complaining about it and they wouldn't have to adress anything because we got some more candy to keep the children quiet once more. This felt like an already planned event like a "part 2" not a damage control event, change my mind.

@@Seiishizo totally what i think too. there is no way they limit socks to 3000 and retroactive refund extras back when there was even a possibility that this event would come later anyway. Its clearly a speed way to give us extra socks and give us a very short event now with the store to make it somehow work still. i think its a good fix though . but i think lots of dmg is already done, people are on edge . especially when they get the kashmir from the tranz and 0 lightning from the 10 years.

I remember thinking (and commenting) that anything lesser than an ancient transcendent scroll would be a disappointment. It's officially at least not a disappointment 😂But yea would've been better if they just release the event in this state from the getgo instead of waiting for a big community uproar but it is what it is.
I think they should do rta buff differently. Buff maybe 100 units but only for the season and seperate from the pve game. Then drop off some of the more insane buffs or decide to keep them.
It's not free, you are using energy to gain event currency and energy cost crystals and crystals are equal to real money. So it's not free. Free would be sent to everyone in the mailbox
got it last month and it didnt even improve anything on my acct.. for me he is the worst bomber in game on par with his wind brother.. the passive is brain dead.. will rune doesnt get affected by its passive, the damage dont add up to bomb damage.. super low on base damage.. this unit doesnt know what to focus on thats why it sucks.. atleast some LD's shine somewhere like geldnir one of the best siege def, sylvia same with geld.. grogen one of the best AO... when i summoned this unit i was feeling annoyed than hyped because this was my chance and i dont know when will i ever summon an LD again.. maybe another 2years

I don't get how this event is a "reaction to the drama" since we didn't have an event to spend the socks on 😅. Wouldn't this shop event be a normal event when there is an event where you have to collect things by farming ? Nonetheless, i can't complain too much since there are some juicy rewards 🎉

I think the new event is great and all BUT this controversy kinda opened my eyes and pulled out of sunken cost fallacy. It killed the will to continue farming for me I played this year, time to quit again and comeback for the next big patch.

The event is not shity anymore, is just that and nothing more sadly, the game sittuation is still crap overall, busted rates (especialy LD rates) no pitty summoning, unfair pvp sittuations, terrible GVG cenario, shit balance patches, the list goes on and on. Every time they throw a bone people act like everything is fine, this happiness will last half a second after they spend the scrolls for this event and got nothing + a elemental nat 5 that they didn't have before. This community is trapped in a toxic relationship with an abusive partner who is used to providing something minimal from time to time to keep the collar tight around their neck, and most of them can't even realize that they are in a relationship like that. There's no way out for most people.

Love your content, don't take this as a hate message. But it's creators like yourself that made overractiin videos that may have effected us truly getting something crazy. This stuff was 100% already planned it's why they didn't acknowledge it. What none of you streamers have mentioned is forget about the 10x10, we have always gotten something like a trans scroll for christmas and anniversary event. But since the streaming community and reddit, yall gave them an easy way out to just put out the second half of event slightly later and we would expect that as our upgrade. Minus the 145 10 year scrolls, this is still pretty much a normal christmas event, we still deserve an ld5 or bare minimum pick ld4. We should not be accepting of the new already planned event. Anyways no hate brother love you!

it was a bullsh1t event 130 scrolls 4x 4 stars, no 5 stars. and the 5 star from the 5 star scroll was a dupe. it was a real disapointment.

could be already planned, but having the holiday stockings locked at 3k earlier. gives me doubts either way :P
