I said before the season started that I was very worried about Parramatta's lack of depth in the backs more so the forwards if there were to be injuries or something bad happened and it's been proven to be correct. In some ways the club has tried to bargain buy their way to making up a team. Instead of investing the money correctly, it's like they have gone for the cheap option e.g. Harper, Kelma, Ofahengaue, Simonsson, Lussick, Hodgson etc, players that normally wouldn't get a run at any other team.
Gutho - doeant return kick hard enough Sivo can score but cant defend. Simonsen and penisini are solid, not great. Russel - not nrl level Brown- has been figured out by all other clubs. Moses.. injured and his kick game is crucial. No value from paulo or rcg fro. The money their on. Cartwright is hit or miss. Matterson hardly offloads anymore. Lussick and hands are not nrl level. Brad arthur is responsible for the squad. His big bopper style of chasing collision has been surpassed by speed and endurance. The top 4 teams have speed in abundance. And can play right up to the 80th minute.
Not usually. The whole point of the exercise is that you cant sack a whole team of players, so the Eels board deflects their decrepit management by sacking the coach.
As a long life Parra man, ive just heard Trent Barret's first interview.... I wasn't a big fan of him as a coach but he impressed me highly in what he said and seems to be learning in his new career..... Wish him the very best with Parra and his career ! Win or lose.... Good luck Trent...We are all behind you ! And to Gus, who i highly respect.... Where are all your Bulldog Juniors ????? If you have any 😂😂😂😂😂😂
If souths run this, they will make a run 1. Latrell Mitchell 2. Alex Johnson 3. Campbell Graham 4. Isaiah Tass 5. Tyrone Munro 6. Jack Wighton 7. Cody Walker 8. Tevita Tatola 9. Damien Cook 10. Jai Arrow 11. Keaon Koloamatangi 12. Tallis Duncan 13. Cameron Murray 14. Peter Mamouzelos 15. Thomas Burgess 16. Davvy Moale 17. Siliva Havili
Completely agree - that team carves up. Give them a few consistent games to build combinations and that is a proper, proper team. Ideally, Wighton to centre to replace Tass and have an elite halfback, but otherwise very good.
The Warriors victory, where their NSW Cup side beat the defending Premieres, was the performance of the round and year to date. By comparison, the Wahs didn't have a player of any note in their team, and they did the unbelievable. They suffocated the Panthers' attack, beat them on the edges, and outmuscled them in the middle without Capewell, Harris, Johnson, Niukore, RTS, Metcalf, Lussick and CHT for 80 minutes - not bad for a team that also missed players to HIA assessments and concussion altogether. What other team in the NRL could do that to the Panthers? UP THE WAAAAAAAAAAAHS!
As a Queenslander i hope they stay with Tedesco. Edwards is an awesome player, runs his guts out, is always there to make things happen and is tough as nails. He's origin, all over, he's a player. Even if they go with Tedesco he should be in the team, pick him anywhere but he's got to be there. NSW are gunna NSW and not pick him, good for Qld but not fair on him. By rights he should have 6 games under his belt already. It's fine to pick Mitchell and Jeff Dahmer out of position, why not Edwards?
31:58 Gus, Parra might've been the team of the 80's, but the Dogs were the club of the 80's because their wins spanned the whole decade. Both had 5 GF's, 4 Premierships. You don't glorify Parra without including the Dogs, who displayed greater consistency over the decade, and you played for!!
I never heard of him until Freddy & the 8th spoke highly about him. Seems like a great prospect. Hope you mob get him. Would love to see what he can bring to an nrl team as the head coach.
Very successful at Leeds Rhinos but under his leadership they did yo-yo between champions and in bottom 4. He was good at taking a experienced group of professionals and pushing them further however he didn't set up for the transition as Leed's golden generation retired around the same time. He dropped down to the league below with Featherstone and they vastly under performed in his last appointment. Gus is correct there doesn't seem to be an obvious plan for the Eels. Successful clubs are built on stability, a clear identity, a strong development and scouting network, and then a well managed cap to be able to attract the missing pieces to create a great first team.
From what I researched, he does have a great record as coach but not too sure if he is the right fit for Eels coz coaching Eels isn't an easy job and the club's goal is to win a comp in the new era.
Gus ( football club boss) - the players are getting injured more because we only have them for 4.5 days a week over summer period. And it's the players union fault. John Howard would be proud !
Yip gota love gus i said this i knew that. Hard when a master coach. Been close results an penrith few out some sides comin for em. Good season few blow outs but really anyones. Thanks
Hey Gus, Bulldogs needed middle forwards and have signed Tom Amone for 2025 - well done. I know he had injuries but i wonder why you let Jack Hetherington go?
Yes it will and I tell you why there is 3 reasons the cattle no2 the nrl want it to continue no3 no football knowledge at board level maybe they should go for the England coach because no Aussie or kiwi coach can do it can they
32 minutes talking about Parramatta cmon boys.....Hazelton shark rookie on bench Ramien no no no no ....Mitchell centre he won't hide in origin ...Yeo last chance...Tracy better utility than Watson who is killing it at chooks..
This is by hands down the best RL podcast going.
Levels and bye round?

Have any proof you said any of that???
@@Sub0x-x40 none of them would make the 17 for Storm lol. Ofa and Siminsson would get close but thats about it lmao
Simonson was a starter by the time he left raiders, not very good though so shouldn’t have been in first grade.
How does sacking your coach mid season going to help especially if you don't have a better one ready to go

They ran basically that team and only won 1 game
@@Tom-lm2tc if it was from the start them they wouldn't be in this mess
Incorrect. Latrell playing like a reserve grade winger.

See you in the finals when both teams are full strength.
Love Gus but there's not more Penrith Juniors than Parra in our squad. That's not to say he isn't right about our nursery being where it should be.
They really should chase Shaun wane before wayne he is a elite coach
Gus mentioned players who can cover different position. Matt Burton must be on the bench, he can literally cover near all positions
Qld , 1.Walsh 2Coates 3.Holmes 4.Hammer 5.Tualagi 6 Deardon 7 Cherry Evans 8.Cotter9.Hunt. 10.Collins 11 Kaufusi 12.Nanai 13.Carrigan 14 Grant 15 Fafita 16 Welch17. Fatouaka. 18. MAM
Parramatta have to break the mold.
Get rid of the "6 again", I hate them and I reckon they are part of the soft injury problem.
You hear "6 again" and I usually have no idea why.
Theyve started putting a ruling thing on the screen when it happens this season but prior, yeah it always like ok can you atleast say why

@@peterfinch5077 Thanks for this background that's well put together ❤️
@joshuav.santos5220 What I do know is that its going to need a long term option because we have some serious top down issues at the club.
Christan welch use to be a great prop but that season ending injury he had a couple of years ago ruined his career
The Gold Coast Titans took a super league premiership winning coach in Justin Holbrook.
Gus ( football club boss) - the players are getting injured more because we only have them for 4.5 days a week over summer period. And it's the players union fault.

Because he's average and hot headed
Gus has a good point great to watch fast footy. But hurts ya. Only human
Listen GUS most of your bulldogs players in your top 30 are all brought to the dogs not many from your youth grade.
Yeah but gus hasnt been at the bulldogs long enough to make the changes to develop youth talent. give it 5 more years and King gus will show himself
Parra will get Todd Payton who let’s be honest is next in the firing line. Cowboys get Brad Arthur. My prediction
Yes it will and I tell you why there is 3 reasons the cattle no2 the nrl want it to continue no3 no football knowledge at board level maybe they should go for the England coach because no Aussie or kiwi coach can do it can they
all the nsw fans will boo latrell everytime he touches the ball... ironic
Riff have been poached to death alright 😂
Gus is wrong about bennet
Luai absolutely should be. As a Qlder hope they go for Burton or Walker over Luai.

Smith sniffles
If u watch Wally saying his team, he said hammer and Cobbo in the centres, Holmes on the wing
Yeh I wouldn't read too much into what Wally says these days
The board is doing no favours for the fans by talking to duds it is really a insult speak to someone who has won trophy's like the England coach
Wat EVA happened to PLAYER DEVELOPMENT, nowadays every club is just spending moni on players DAT r not worth dea ability
Allianz 🤣
Josh King from melb would be good at prop for nsw if he eligible big minutes and massive work load
PLEASE pick Mitchell. We love players who only play 20 mins a game.
😂
Whilst I respect the fact Matthew Thompson is decent 90% of the time (and I like the show) the other 10% of the time he can be a very annoying dill.
Ok, Mr. perfect. Sorry he doesn't reach your 100% standards
Sharks by 20+!
It could be, the panthers have been well and truly poached to death.
