My closest track is 72 miles away and they go all out with the inspection of the bike like pad life, chain tension, you can't have a fairing bolt missing you gotta have certain gear ect you can't take that $1000 marketplace bike to most tracks. I'm a big believer in getting "warmed up" when you first head out on a ride like this. Meaning your tires, your bike, and your brain. Don't let adrenaline overwhelm your reflexes. What caused the crash was that he was riding too fast for the road conditions and his front tire washed out. Plain and simple. Glad he got up from it but riding like a GP racer on a road with potholes and then wondering "What happened ?? " Is kinda silly.
@@kolloduke3341 On the line he was on, he was already missing the potholes. Besides, at that speed he wasn't going to see it. Plain and simply put, he was riding too fast on roads that we can see are not in great condition. What ended my riding was the day I felt confident enough to remove the remainder of the chicken strips. Stopping to clean the face shield, I was thinking I could use more power. Riding home at the speed limit, I meet a lifted PU taking half of my lane and running me into the gravel shoulder, looking at a 30' embankment. Standing on the pegs dirt bike style, I rode it out and re-entered the road enraged. I caught him in seconds then it dawned upon me. How would I stop him, and if I did, what would I do if a neanderthal exited the truck? I rode her home, removed the body work, and did a complete cleaning. My wife came to the shop and asked what I was doing, to which I replied. When its sold, I will tell you. I gave the leathers and boots to the kid who bought her but kept my Bell Star Carbon. Worst thing besides the crash was whoever had some medical training completely did the wrong thing. Mechanism of injury was rapid deceleration and blunt force trauma. Why do you Americans buy such powerful sports bikes? If I understand correctly, there is a speed limit throughout the USA. Speeding is punished severely, including prison sentences. Very few American motorcyclists ride on the racetrack, where the power of their sports bikes makes sense. In the majority of YT videos of American motorcyclists, you can see a driving incompetence that makes my hair stand on end as a European. Eye technique? No idea! Driving physics? What is that? It looked to me like the corner had two bends, the second being sharper. If you look at the angle from the leading guy, crash guy closes in on him real fast around the second bend, indicating that he didn't slow down enough like the leader. From there, the corner became too tight and he turned/leaned too much. I agree with some of the sentiments here, those roads leave no room for mistakes; your friend is truly lucky.
Pretty cool to have that kind of help arrive in fairly short order. Losing a rear you might sense it and let off but when a front tire goes there is no warning and no saving it.
I have air ambulance insurance "AIRLIFT N.W." A friend didn't, and when he crashed, it cost him over $30k for a flight to the hospital. After my last near-death experience aboard my R-1, I sold the bike; however, I still have my Z06, which is slower but safer...
Can happen to anyone but I tend to agree - riding any road is always going to mean you have to go 60-70% just because there are idiots coming the other way, there are animals, there are potholes, there is oil, dust, gravel etc. any number of hazards that require space to navigate when they come upon you without warning. You go to a track if you want to go 100% or thereabouts. Public roads have no margin for error - tracks do.
Hearing the engine, closing throttle puts load on the front tyre,if you have cold tyres and not enough counter steering this is the result..low side. Hope he is ok!
I've been riding since 74' ...so many friends died on twisties or cross town traffic 😢. I really only ride early morning Sundays within my limits. But I still love straight away mile n half mile races. 1320 when ever I can.
Everybody seems to be looking for reasons why this happened, but there is just one. Too much speed. Anyone not leaving a margin for error is flirting with death, regardless of how well they can ride
I'm surprised yall don't have a truck in the rear for breakdowns and or injuries that don't need EMS to transport. It seems like maybe a little more.planning is needed for these kinds of rides .
Speed was definitely a factor here , going into a large sweeping bend at speed, then any sudden change on steering, you're going to drop the bike 🏍. Sure, it's all this & giggles until you get hurt . Track days, boys & girls track days!!!
I am a lifelong motorcyclist, but racing on the street is just stupid. There were almost 2 crosses at the end of that guard rail today, if not for the grace of God. Stop racing on the streets, it’s dangerous, illegal, and stupid.
Yes, a dangerous sport. Looks like someone’s last moments were on that bend. Luckily he threaded the needle and missed the guard rail 🙏. One of my pack flew over the handle bars and broke both femurs. Take it down a notch boys, better to enjoy ride than ending a life. Maybe Semi-Max Wrist…? Probably not but had to throw it out there. I remember Kitty had a vid on the highway where she was ripping…. I told her the same thing. That vid disappeared from her channel but I remember it vividly.

11:30 Did anyone else notice the cross with flowers and painted rocks at same place . thats obviously a bad corner and this happened before but person didnt survive.
Literally a marked cross where the guy went crashing through. I would wager the crash was caused by attempting to avoid the pot hole. As to the guy that had a cross on the road already willing to bet he tried to dodge that same pot hole and failed worse than the lucky guy in this video.
In the mid to late 80s and early 90s we would camp at Monte Cristo off Angeles Forest Hwy.. Even then every day we would hear bikes and cars ripping through the canyon. In highschool in Lancaster my buddy had a nice little prelude and we would pull with our parents the whole, I am staying the night at his place and he was staying at mine. We would pull all nighters without any drugs or alcohol believe it or not, we would take turns running Bouquet Canyon Rd from Elizabeth lake rd all the way down to Saugus.. Then turn around and run it back.. Lucky Im still here.
Ride ACH all the time, that turn at triple digits requires game, it’s bumpy and loss of contact surface caused from uneven terrain caused this, as he wasn’t braking at all, at least looks like there’s wasn’t any braking going on. You guys need to slow down. Leave ten percent of your abilities for those times you’re unsure.
Not for nothing but when was the anniversary of that memorial/crucifix? Crazy how out of all the areas he could have went into, it was there! With no guard rail, next to someone that lost their life (R.I.P. to that person) & still came out walking! Jesus was with him that day & He is definitely telling that man something! I pray that he has/had a fast recovery!
He rolls off a fraction before the front tucked which means in that moment there was too much load transferred to the front tyre. He felt he needed to tighten his line but for the load the front tyre was already under, he closed the throttle too much in that moment for the available grip. That is what actually happened, however I would be curious to know why he needed to alter his line and why he needed to close the throttle so quickly because that is the reason the crash occurred in the first instance. He does start to drift wide very slightly but not so much that he wasn't going to make the bend. Perhaps this "pushing" (or "understeer" as we could call it in the UK) was enough to spook him into needing to make an adjustment.
Every blind curve has the potential to have an obstacle out of view. If you’re riding at 100% there’s no option to change your line in mid corner. Take the chance too many times and face the consequences.
Body positioning was definitely a bit crossed up, which contributed to unnecessary added lean angle on the bike.... but the main reason was most likely cold tires.
I hope the guy is okay. That medic flight can be anywhere from $10,000 up to $50,000, depending on where it's coming from. Not to mention the medical bill staying in the hospital. They sure like to burn up the jet fuel flying in circles. They're not just trying to find a 40 ft by 40 ft LZ. Is it worth it? It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. I've been on a few crashes myself. Boy, does it hurt to crash. I'm sticking to my dirt bike and mountain bike 😅. Be safe out there. I'm glad no one else was hurt or no family was hurt.

I'm glad he's somewhat ok, it could've been a lot worse. Get well soon
That's going to be one Hell of an ambulance bill!
He's lucky to be alive for sure, I hope he isn't too hurt
sorry. get well. please save it for track days
I've been riding since 74' ...so many friends died on twisties or cross town traffic 😢.
I really only ride early morning Sundays within my limits. But I still love straight away mile n half mile races. 1320 when ever I can.
Doing that with cold tires is a BIG NO NO! Hope the man is OK.
doesn't look like he was the first sliding that corner..
This is why racetracks have clean asphalt, no guard rails, and runoff areas.
You guys need to have a fully equipped van chase you for support and a pre-meeting to set some parameters.
Everybody seems to be looking for reasons why this happened, but there is just one. Too much speed. Anyone not leaving a margin for error is flirting with death, regardless of how well they can ride
It sort of looked to me like his knee might have touched the road about the time his front tire broke loose. I'm glad he is ok.
I'm surprised yall don't have a truck in the rear for breakdowns and or injuries that don't need EMS to transport. It seems like maybe a little more.planning is needed for these kinds of rides .
Fact he crashed at a memorial site says how dangerous that turn is!! 🙏🏼
What caused the crash? Sounded like he lifted the throttle before the front gave out which might have caused the lowside?
Reasons why I love my s1000rr
Speed was definitely a factor here , going into a large sweeping bend at speed, then any sudden change on steering, you're going to drop the bike 🏍. Sure, it's all this & giggles until you get hurt . Track days, boys & girls track days!!!
Very unfortunate ❤ hope he is doing well.
Glad you made it alive bro! Looks like the person who has the memorial sign this could've been you. This is why I stick to dirt I am terrified of the pavement road signs and other vehicles. Looks like a lot of guys race up there on Angeles crest these days
Get well soon.🙏
Seems like his body position wasn’t quite right. Leaning his bike into the corner but not his body
You are one of the few who are onto it.
Cold tires, no patience, showing off, terrible form……being stupid…..winning stupid prizes, no further questions, your honor, the state rest its case!
Fat old guys on superbikes shredding canyons and showing off... yeah what could possibly go wrong
One was wearing jeans lol.

There is something scary about seeing a cross from another person's death, and your buddies bike parts are all over it.
Too fast for the road surface is what happened here, those roads haven't been maintained or resurfaced in eon's, just my take, glad he lives to ride again 👊🏼
If you are an experience biker, you can ride fast but to your limit and experience.
Be safe out there.
Is he ok? Did he survive?
Anyone that goes on rides with you ends up just like this.
You are the problem.
You don't even know basic first aid .
How can you even see that pothole around a corner going that fast? not buying that
You don't ride at this level that's way u think that. That's exactly what happened
@@char.s1ksmashing444 keep telling yourself that man
Spot on. You definitely not seeing that pothole. These riders need to be identified and arrested imo. This type of riding needs to be stopped
@@matthewsinclair507 he's right! clearly you have no clue
@@scotsmith8810 haha okay guys, sure I don't.
This was a wake-up call that I'm guessing exactly 0 riders answered.... Same old crap, different day.
That’s a very expensive helo ride. Usually some insurance does not cover helo ride. I’m glad he’s ok.
That's why I stopped riding in large groups. Always one who has to be faster than the others. Great to see your friend is fine though.
Bad luck to crash. Good luck not to die!
The pothole had nothing to do with it...
''crashes and -nearly- misses a guardrail.'' That would be ''Barely'' or ''Narrowly''. 😉
Hey man just to ask what camera you using and what brand of tires, im debating on bridgestone or michelin
This wouldn't have happened if you guys would have kept to the track. Glad the dude is okay.
Es una persona con mucha suerte, por pasar en lo estrechó del espacio entre la barrera de contención y la cruz .
De suerte no se mutilo algún miembro de su cuerpo.
Pronta recuperación 😊
Heading around a bend at speed he probably panicked and dropped his revs. Road conditions were not good either. Hope he’s on the mend.
11:30 Did anyone else notice the cross with flowers and painted rocks at same place . thats obviously a bad corner and this happened before but person didnt survive.
Idiot filming says he hit the sign no moron thats cross and momento from another accident where person died doing same thing..
Thank god he was wearing full gear.
just out of curiosity, would insurance cover the bike at all in a situation like this or is that just a total loss?
Literally a marked cross where the guy went crashing through.
I would wager the crash was caused by attempting to avoid the pot hole. As to the guy that had a cross on the road already willing to bet he tried to dodge that same pot hole and failed worse than the lucky guy in this video.
Oradaki Türk arkadaşlara selam olsun. Ayrıca geçmiş olsun.
Thank God for gear! Always suit up, regardless of where, when or how far!
Get well soon dude.
Jesus! That guard rail.
Fuck me!
He may have rolled off the throttle a little too much, at these high rpms it's hard to dose that, so he overloaded the front tire.
Moi.
Front tire wasn't loaded. Too much weight on back tire not on front tire.
Hard to watch fellow motorcycle riders taking such stupid risks. Hope everyone involved learns from this. Keep the aggressive riding for the tracks.
Every blind curve has the potential to have an obstacle out of view. If you’re riding at 100% there’s no option to change your line in mid corner. Take the chance too many times and face the consequences.
Ok one positive is you are all wearing correct gear. Shit happens and he is soooo lucky he missed the guard rail.
Im gonna guess he let off the gas like your supposed to in a corner but got back on it to soon hence what usually causes a low side
Body positioning was definitely a bit crossed up, which contributed to unnecessary added lean angle on the bike.... but the main reason was most likely cold tires.
Cold tires? These tires are all up to temp in a matter of minutes
Body positioning causing too much lean angle is the main reason which compounded any other thing that may have come after that.
Get this guardrail mended, it's lethal!
