One of my favorite instances of reflavoring names comes from fallout New Vegas where it's discovered that after the signs faded away Tuscon started being referred to as two suns because later generations thought their ancestors just had heavy accents
Ooh yes!!! I absolutely love New Vegas and a good point in how some words evolve over time due to accents, faded signs, or muddied history! Locals then end up putting their own story and spin on how the area came to be and it creates such an immersive world!
This is such a helpful series! I’ve been afraid to try a post apocalyptic stories because of the world building. This would be rather helpful in that endeavor. Well done.

My world has various levels of destruction which is mostly caused by supernatural disasters and a small scale nuclear strike
