totally. I saw him live at U of M, doing A Conversation with Gregory Peck a few years before he passed. He was such a gentleman, pure grace, talked candidly for about an hour and a half. There is a doc by the same name.
Watching this again in 2024. Greg Peck's gorgeous rich voice sounded good in his singing here. What a man, I love him and always will. Also two great comedians of their time, Burns and Benny, so clever with their deadpan style of humour. What a feast of 'great' stars there were in the past. So glad we can still watch them on a screen now. Thank you for this bit of fun.
I also am totally infatuated with Gregory Peck. Nobody else before or since could ever have the charm and charisma of this brilliant actor. He was a kind and honorable man as well. I pray that he is now with his heavenly father.
Anyone who's seen the marvellous comedy film 'Designing Woman' will know Gregory Peck can handle comedy very well, pity he wasn't given more chances to do it, he was great in this skit!
In these strange, difficult modern times, it's so nice to pop back and see this sketch from the past. Loved those two comedians, but can hardly take my eyes of Greg Peck. He had such modesty and it's nice to see him having a bit of fun himself. So nice to enjoy humour without all the gross language of today.
Gregory Peck has always been my favorite actor. I didn’t know he could sing though! He is a really good singer and then obviously George Burns was great and Jack Benny was hilarious!
I've seen three of these. Jimmy Stewart's is the worse (well, his singing is), Bing Crosby's is the best (his singing and the clip itself) and this one is the funniest. Love when Gregory is getting down near the end from 7:18 to close!
In fact, George later recalled that when he convinced Harry Karl (Debbie Reynolds' husband at the time) to join the "act" for a charity benefit, Karl wasn't sure he could go through with it. Burns assured him that everything was going to be fine, and that when the opening fanfare was heard, all Harry had to do was to start out on his left foot when they strutted out together. George then walked over to Jack, and said softly, "When the music begins, start out on your right foot."
"Goldie, Fields and Glide" was a routine George thought up (supposedly based on a "terrible" vaudeville act he once observed)- and he and Jack performed it at private parties, charity benefits, radio, and TV for almost 40 years. The third member of the "act" was always a "guest performer", persuaded to join in the fun. Yes, Bing Crosby and Jimmy Stewart were among those who did it with them over the years....
Everyone assumes that Goldie Fields and Glide was an invention just for this routine but that was not so. Goldie, Fields and Glide was an actual vaudeville group that George Burns was a member of, his first regular employment in show biz. He was Glide, Fields' real name was Nat Renard and Goldie was Hymie Goldberg, In the act Burns was in blackface doing his best Jolson imitation, Renard wore a derby and beard, which in the manners of the day meant he was Jewish and Goldberg played a tough mug. Burns, born Nathan Birnbaum, said he often changed his name as he made his way as a performer. He said that at one time he was part of the duo of George Burns and Chick Fowler, adding, and I was Chick Fowler.
thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm looking for this video for a long time!!!!!!!!!! I love Gregory Peck, but i did'nt know what title this video was. i don't know comedians with Peck. are they famous in America? Please show me the way to download this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! i cannot sleep tonight!!!!!!!!!
Funny, but when the last vaudeville generation finally died out, so did much of entertainment. "The Shadow of You Smile" was a great 60's song from the wretched film "The Sandpiper," in which Liz & Dick were laughably miscast as a straying clergyman and a California beatnik artist. For better movies with Burton as priest, see "Becket," "Night of the Iguana," and "Excorist II: The Heretic."Just kidding on that last one.
I am honestly in love with Gregory Peck
Me too!
me tooooooooo💞💓
So am I! It's so sad that he isn't with us anymore today.
Seriously, me too 😍😍😍

He was comfortable in his own skin.
@@sarahnichols4439 That is an excellent way to put it.
Good Post
Nowadays, I don't think you would see a HUGE star like Peck sing & dance so bad and so thoroughly enjoy himself and embrace the whole sketch! Love it.
なんて楽しめて笑えるラインナップだろう😅😊一流俳優のこのようなパフォーマンスはとても素敵だし貴重ですね。
gregory peck is so dreamy
The scary thing is that Gregory can actually sing! Man, I love this guy!
All my life I've loved Gregory Peck, God bless him forever.

My favourite actor! What a personality, presence & voice! No man today can fill his shoes! The most elegant actor & a real gentleman.
1:58 Gregory Peck has a great singing voice wow!
Omg, Gregory Peck is fantastic! XD
omg this is so good. Greg is all manly handsome ruggedness, with not a dandy debonair bone in his body, but still he's having such a good time.
I remember watching this show back in 1969 and laughing my sides off. God bless them all. THOSE WERE THE GREAT DAYS.
Whenever I hear anybody sing The Shadow of Your Smile I still remember Two Bushels and a Peck.
adorable....I love Gregory Peck
Truth is i find Peck cool even when he is not - they call it class 🤠
George burns looks very comfortable doing this. Veteran.
That's rare to see Gregory Peck hamming it up. Great show!
What a wonderful world it would be to have it filled with men like Gregory Peck and woman like his wife Veronique ❤️😘✝️
I honestly can't express how much I love Gregory Peck. This was awesome to find!
Gregory Peck is such an inspiration because there are few good guys left!
Priceless! Jack Benny was such a crack-up!
We'll never see their like again. 😢
Jack Benny, George Burns, and Gregory Peck are Legendary
Gregory Peck has always been my favorite actor. I didn’t know he could sing though! He is a really good singer and then obviously George Burns was great and Jack Benny was hilarious!
Gregory Peck, ....is it wrong to be infatuated with a man who, is not only decades older than me, but also deceased?
OF COURSE NOT ! because many people are! I will be all my life. Greetings.
It is not wrong 😂
I think there was nothing wrong in it. As I also have infatuation on him.
no, it is the only right thing. he died the year I was born, but that's irrelevant
Same dear :( I so want a gregory peck, I would marry him in a heartbeat
Gregory we missed you 💟💟💟
What's funny is that they are playing their essential identities as comedy. Now that is good comedy.
Steven Torrey
Gregory😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙amorŕŕr mio!!!!
GREGORY IS SO ADORABLE I CANNTTTT
It’s hard to sing that badly... what a pro

Wonderful.
UN GRAN ACTOR GREGORY PECK.

Oh so sweet!!

What a treasured moment this was for Mr. Gregory Peck to get to sing and act with Mr Jack Benny and Mr. George Burns.

Jack Benny and George Burns. They had hit radio shows 1930s-1940s, and television shows in 1950s. Jack Benny is one of my all-time favorites.
Look up “vaudeville”
⭐❤️⭐
♥♥♥
does anybody know the first song that they sing??
Still funny👍🏻
♥ ♥
First song is:
Billy Murray - Honey, I Will Long For You. Second song is: The Shadow of Your Smile
5:41 George Burns dancing to "Come Along, My Mandy".
Turns out his grandson Ethan (currently playing Spock) has a strong baritone.
First song?
Mars
Hugh Jackman is reincarnation of Gregory Peck. He sang as good as Dean Martin...
