    That’s an enormous mountain buck. I’ve been hiking/fishing/off roaring and hunting all over the BESF for 15 years and have only seen small bucks, one nice 8 pointer about 5 years ago.

    You did an amazing job with this video. My wife and 2 daughters and I were up there this past weekend at campsite 47. 95 Land Cruiser that reveals another side up there. I love jeeps too.

    This is great man! I was wondering if you would share the route with me? Would really love to go down there with a couple of buddies. I would really appreciate it!

      @ Luis Perez: I'm sorry but I really don't remember where I went! But, what I recommend you do is get the Purple Lizard map for Bald Eagle State Forest. That's what I used. I just picked the trails that looked the most fun. The map identifies which trails are gravel, and which are high clearance etc. It also shows points of interest and areas that are closed off. Good luck and have fun!

    just getting started with overlanding in PA. We were looking at Bald eagle to plan out our first trip. Would you mind letting me know which trails/ route you took? we want to do something very similar, if not the exact same trip. Looks like a blast.

      Hi Mark: BESF is a great place to OL in PA. As your first step in planning an awesome trip, I strongly recommend picking up the Purple Lizard map for BESF. It's super accurate and identifies gravel roads, high clearance roads, and hiking trails. From there, I'd recommend you take the route the Purple Lizard folks describe in their blog entry here: www.purplelizard.com/blogs/news/overlanding-in-bald-eagle-state-forest-millheim-to-mile-run-pa (That's the route that I traced, the first time I went to BESF and it was great). (Video from that trip here: th-cam.com/video/520xthGUlR4/w-d-xo.html).
      I think it'd be nearly impossible for me to describe where we went in this particular video, we just took so many turns and made up a lot of our routes on the fly. That's the fun of having those maps. Good luck!

      @@uplandphoto Hey with that map, how do you know which trails you're allowed to drive on? Is that was "shared use trail" means?

    What are you going to do with the antlers? Would that be a good treat or toy for a dog?

    How fullsize friendly are the trails in the this area? Been out west in the mountain of Colorado and Moab with my F250, but would like to find some areas closer to home here in Ohio to get away to every now and then.

    Did anyone raise any concerns about having more than 10 people and DCNR's requirement to apply for a permit?

    • @uplandphoto
      @uplandphoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Drew:
      Our group got a special permit by calling DCNR in advance. They even unlocked a gated large group campsite for us to use. It was a great trip!

    • @CouchYellowSquash
      @CouchYellowSquash 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@uplandphoto I recognized the campsite so I figured you must have. It was a dual purpose comment to also bring awareness to anyone else considering doing a group thing there.

    • @xavior718

      I called in to request a permit for 10 and more than 2 vehicles but we were denied for sites in BESF. Ended up getting sites in Rothrock instead.
