    Hi Samuel,
Thank you for your excellent videos overall. They contain very useful tips. It's clear we both appreciate Ben Osterhouse's creations. Currently, I own "Sospiro String" and I'm considering purchasing "Pattern Strings" and "Pathfinder Cello" (great concept!).
I agree with your observation that "Pattern Strings" lacks more patterns using eighth-note cells (especially upbeat), which makes it challenging to create Stravinsky-style ostinatos (just kidding). Additionally, some cells are half-note length while others are quarter notes, which is a bit confusing. Perhaps this is intentional in Ben's design?
The second feature I would like to request is the ability for the plugin to act as a mute, emitting only MIDI notes (for example, to trigger brass or other external instruments without strings), though I understand this might not be feasible in Kontakt.
Do you happen to know if Ben will be releasing an upgraded version (version 3)?
    Thanks once again,
    Giorgio

I love this library, but I wish you could also drag the rhythm blocks (midi) onto the daw for notation and orchestration purposes :-)

It is a valid point. But I wonder if it is possible though, since sample and data would be different.

Something like this is on my list as a possible feature to add.
What I could do, is make kontakt send out notes corresponding to whatever is in the pattern.
Then you could put Pattern Strings in front of another instrument and use it kind of like an arpeggiator.

I don't mind if it exists, but I wonder how important it is. I mean, is it that difficult to do on your own? The whole point of the library, in my mind, is that your performance is in there, which is hard to capture with a normal string library. Of course, for notation purpose I can see more of a point, but again, I wonder how much time you would truly save. Just thoughts. 🙂

@@SecondTierSound Yes. You can do it manually, but many VSTs now offer drag-and-drop midi to assist with orchestration using other samples as well. This just speeds writing up. It seems as if pattern strings is almost there.

Thanks. Great review. What was the very first library you initially played with at the beginning of the video please?

Can you use the midi out into another VST ?
