Thank you brother! Being able to transition between the two riding styles is a skill worth acquiring for sure. Us taller guys have to work at it a bit more upfront, but once it clicks it becomes second nature. All the best!
Nothing much to add except... Do not ride over curbs, bumps, or big potholes while seated. The majority of your suspension comes from your knees, seated riding takes away 80% of that suspension. The wheel can absorb some irregularities on the road when riding seated but it will throw you off if you go over a curb or a bump.
tell me about it! I was learning to ride seated on my old RS (no suspension, no custom seat, the original seat, which is hard foam) when a large pothole decided to suddenly jump in front of me... luckily I didn't fall, but I was about to. The wheel tumbled, but I could stand up and do few steps, didn't make contact with the ground, the speed was low, as I was just learning at that time. But the hit in the groins still felt after a week. No joke.
ive ridden over all of those things with a non suspension wheel while sitting. You just flex your legs, grab whatever handle your wheel has, and press down on it with your feet. Youll go flying a couple inches off your wheel but as long as your legs are flexed and youre pulling up on the wheel itll stay on your feet and youll just come back down on it. Also counterintuitively, the faster you go the less youll notice it because eventually the wheel inherits the upward momentum along with you so youll do a seated jump instead of getting bucked off.
finally able to stand on my Lynx, whereas before i was only riding seated. your suspension setup video helped me a lot. thanks for the informative videos, stay safe brother
Excellent video, and special mention for talking about issues of riding in traffic, and people cutting you off. I also found out that one of the most dangerous situations when riding with many cars around, especially here in Asia, where they don't care much about rules, is the fact that people can't estimate how fast you are going, or you can go. They imagine that my Master Pro (or any other wheel by the way) is a toy, they look at you like you are some strange thing, they laugh, give you a thumb up, then overtake you and 50 meters in front take a sharp turn, cutting you out. Which is very freaky if you can't stop in time or avoid a collision. It happened to me many times, and only the luck saved me. I want to say skill too, but I would lie. They don't do that intentionally, they just don't think that you go so fast to reach their turning point in the same time, they imagine riding one wheel is something funny, circus related, and have no idea about the weight and speed these "toys" have, and how damaging (on both sides) a collision can be. With 55 kg of metal and batteries coming at you with 12 or 15 meters per second, I won't bet much on your car staying shinny for a long time...
I agree. I try to ride on the road instead of using the bike lane, especially if I intend to keep up with traffic. For added safety, I ride slightly on the outside so cars don't cut me off when they make unexpected turns. It is a hazard riding fast on the inside and/or using the bike lane. It is much safer to ride like bicycle if you are intending to ride on the inside and/or bike lanes.
Absolutely love seated riding. One tip I would add, use your wind resistance to help with higher speed maneuvers. Gotta go right, hold your right hand to slow that side of your body, hence making a right turn easier. I use that all the time. Same if I am standing and a gust pushes me towards one side of the road, balance it out by holding you hand up, pushing you back. I hope that makes sense and helps someone!
Great video! You were riding in a 40 zone (guessing mph) how fast were you riding there? I love seated riding, unfortunately reaction timing and visibility is extremely poor, combined with high speeds is extremely dangerous... be careful and aware guys and girls. This bro is geared to the max ❤
What’s up buddy. Another great video. Thanks for this. I have 1000 miles in and have only rode seated ones. I am still afraid. How long were you riding before you learned how to ride seated? Ride safe man.
Thank you brother. I believe it was around two months that I started practicing seated riding. After about a week of practice it started to click in. I'm just a few day out from my 6 month riding anniversary since starting to ride the EUC. At this point I consider myself a transition rider switching between standing and seated riding depending on which style best fits the riding conditions. Cheers!
Sitting down is actually more safer than standing .. when u sit down .your body weight helps anchor the wheel down and yes it get rid of wobbles..its ez to make sharp turn.. only problems is on heavier wheel u gotta break far sometimes ..im not too worry bout cars not seeing me while sitting down.. im pretty sure they can ..thats why just be aware and ride safe
@@boblatkey7160 euc aint a surfboard and many ppl sit down on it ..ppl also sits on a surfboard as well ..sometime they do sit down on a surfboard and enjoy the waves push back..u been living under a rock? Even many ppl sit down on a onewheel n e skateboard

stend up to turn also slow down that good idea thought seat also speed up and slow it down that also work good but if you turn stend up to turn slow down first befor turn that smart for safetay that how you ride some people just dont no how to do the right way that why they get injury
I could see rideing in a bike pane/sidwalk however o could never ride one on the road/highway i dont trust other drivers enoughe to do so even ny longboard that goes 40mph is a stretch on roads
The source of wobbles is not center of gravity, but dynamic difference between points of contact of a controlling body to the wheel. Standing is just two legs, while seating adds an ass, which equalizes everpresent pressure difference between two legs and naturally puts it as close to the center of the wheel as possible.
Kind of like getting a killer surfboard and catching an awesome wave and then sitting down on your butt to ride it rather than standing and carving. I do understand that you can rest your feet but seated riding is definitely corny as hell. Wouldn't catch me in public doing that! 😂😂😂😂
I'm in the process of learning how to ride seated. It's a skill that can definitely come in handy. Excellent viewpoints & tips. Thanks for sharing!

Sitting is downright ridiculous! Stand on the thing and ride it like it was designed! Why look like a corny goofball and sit on that thing?
@@boblatkey7160 try going 60mph standing and get back to me. Corny goofball.
Great advice. I definitely need to improve my seated riding skills to be able to utilize at higher speeds.
Mastering the seated riding technique unlocks the full potential of the wheel increasing the overall enjoyment and safety of your ride. All the best!
A lot of solid information on seated riding. Good job on the video 👍🏽🫡

Just learning seated. Biggest issue for me is braking. Seems to take much much longer to stop. Could be because I'm just starting to learn
