when you fixed your sentence and said "you is don't", I didn't even realize that was the rule lol. it's funny how little native speakers know about their own language since you grow up learning it naturally.

It happens to me when I speak Spanish. I am not aware of the grammar I use, as you say, we learn as we grow up and without realizing it.
