Anything used on a classic bike now: spark plugs, high tension leads; oil, tyres, gaskets, gasket sealers/glue, locktighte etc are made with better manufacturing quality controls and techniques, than when the bike was made. So, if you are going to agonise over whether to or not to use something on it because it is not classic, you are going to have a lot of hand ringing to do.

So glad I found your channel! Very informative and clear. You make things seem so easy--Thank you. BTW, I just bought a Triumph Trophy 250 (TR25W) and I am guessing it is very similar to this BSA. Yes??
    Cheers!

Wipe one`s feeler gauge before inserting....as the actress said to the bishop.
One doesn`t want oil on one`s points.

A very good show hope you continue, have done 200 000 miles on unit singles they are after sorted one of the most versitile BSA's ever made. The 441 and B50 can do modern traffic.
