    I've been using a halogen oven for 20 years + . Absolutely none of your reasons to "not" buy one are correct. It appears that you don't actually know anything about halogen ovens, so you are essentially wasting everybody's time. Next time, stick to what you know. Literally everything you've said is complete nonsense.

    This is like watching a SNL spoof!
    They don't cost more, they cost much less to buy and to run.
    Unlike a microwave which doesn't always cook food in the centre,
    my oven cooks food so well, it's still piping hot when I'm nearly finished eating.
    AND I can see food cooking, unlike with a so-called "Air fryer" which are just convection ovens also.
    Hilarious video!

    I wouldn't change it for anything else! I bake everything you can think of in my halogen oven for half the time of my traditional one! It is also cost effective as it doesn't need to preheat and it's only 1400 watt when the traditional ovens are 2000 watt! The only thing that I can't bake in it is pizza as the bottom part of the dough doesn't cook well.

    • @janne2744
      @janne2744 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @elsayednabail4380 Well most things. Anything cooked in an oven can be cooked in a halogen. It does depend on how many you're cooking for. I regularly cooked 6 chicken thighs. 25 minutes and turn half way through. Done bread rolls, cakes, jacket and roast potatoes, sweet potato wedges, bacon, sausages, homemade pizza. They are some examples. The beauty also is, tho sometimes the instructions say to pre heat I have never preheated. It heats up really quickly. You need worktop space but as the Andrew James has a hinged lid you don't need a space to put that down. Just room above. Can see what's cooking and easier to clean than a large oven. No I don't work for Andrew James 🤣....it's the hinged lid and customer service I like. Apart from that they all seem to work the same.

    Back in the 1990s I had a Jet Stream oven which was basically the predecessor to the Halogen oven and it worked really well. I made chicken, meatloaf, pizza, and a few other things with it. A Halogen oven plus maybe an electric skillet/griddle and you could "almost" do away with your tradition oven. Halogen ovens are actually cheaper to buy than the JS oven that I had so I'm not sure where the presenter got her info about Halogen oven pricing.

    1. Halogen Ovens came BEFORE air fryers.
    2. Try learning to pronounce 'infra-red' before critiquing things you know nothing about, but it wouldn't surprise me if you weren't just another AI voice-over bot.
    3. "The food gets hot, which might make it difficult to handle".. I guessing you've never actually cooked any food in your entire life.
    4. I've had a Halogen Oven for over 10 years, never once have I had 'unevenly cooked' food, in fact, I can't imagine roasting meat or chicken in any other appliance now because my Halogen Oven cooks them perfectly.
    5. Halogen Ovens are on average, a fraction of the cost of a current 'Air Fryer' faddy machine.
    6. Halogen Ovens are equally as efficient as an Air Fryer, and it's reduction of cooking time makes it more efficient than a typical kitchen fan oven. Both Air Fryers and Halogen Ovens do not compete well against typical kitchen fan ovens when cooking items that take a very long time, because kitchen ovens are more insulated so they hold in heat more efficiently, which uses less energy over longer cooking times.
    7. "Grilling at lower temperatures in a Halogen Oven protects your food from harmful substances".. What the hell does that even mean??
    8. I've had the same Halogen Oven for probably 10 years and never once need to replace the Halogen element.
    9. "To maintain a balanced diet, try pairing your Halogen Oven meals with fresh fruits and veggies.." Doesn't that apply to EVERY cooking appliance? Just for your information, you CAN cook vegetables in a Halogen Oven as well as meats and poultry.
    10. I must say, I've never heard such biased/inaccurate/ill-informed/poorly researched garbled four minutes of utter nonsense in my entire life. Please do some research before making any more garbage videos in future.

    Had my Halogen EASY COOK 747 Electronic Oven for over 30 years and it is fantastic. My go-to for cooking any Roast, especially when I have guests requesting Roast Pork, in a Plant-Based house 🤣😂. COOKS beautifully all recipes you would use an Oven for and was the first Countertop Cooker I ever bought.
    After about 18 years I had to replace the Cooking lid which has the element, no issues at all and received my replacement under the 25-year replacement warranty and wow still going strong.
    My only Oven these days other than My Easy Cook is a Countertop Breville Smart Oven Pro that has 10 different cooking functions.

    I adored mine. Nothing beats it for roasting potatoe widges, carrots, parsnips etc. Some chicken things go really well also eg: portugues thighs, shish-taok. The transparent bowl and fast heat-up were key. The only problem was the bulb. It went after a year, only option was to replace the oven . Bulb goes again -- errant oil splatter perhaps --- after 6 months of moderate use... no idea what to do next. This can't go on :)

    I got a : Convection oven, Esperanza,1400 W, 18 l, Very basic. ( Analog controls. Temperature control is a knob analogue to the bones. Turns on and off the heat to achieve & maintain desired temp. ) I used it since I was a student. And kept using it since.
    The script for this vid was made by someone who never used or had bad experiences with a halogen oven. Them not being flexible or required to adapt to new technology. Or simply refusing to learn to use the oven forgeting it takes time to learn a new tool.
    Addresing the points of the video:
    1. Temperature control, based on the model can be tedious, yes, but just at 1st glance. While seemingly . Reffer to the user manual for the temperature,time and grating position suggestion.
    The more "fancy" digital models that are badly engineered suffer from the 1 click 1 degree issue. Where truly you will have to spam the button a lot to go from 100 degrees to 250. Analogue ones that have potentiometer or bi-metal thermostat are easier to operate. And if you feel "artistic" you can really fine tune them for that 0.5 degree precision. By moving the knob very slowly.
    Undercooked food? The manual is your friend. Also not being lazy or carefree helps. Don't leave the aparatus to "Do its thing" while you forget about the food that you're about to eat. Flip & rotate your food as needed. Check your food every 10/5 minutes if its something that dosen't require much attention like such making a basic steak.
    Difficult food handling? Cheapest clamp & thermal glove are gonna be your friends. Make sure they are not from chinesium tho.

    2. Uneven cooking? Bad aparatus or bad cook. Flip your steaks. Rotate your cakes. Check your food. Its a tool that you're suposed to learn to use. Not plug & play. Same as a traditional oven you gotta learn the ins & outs.
    3. Pricey? SAY WHAT? Converted to $ at the time of purchase my oven was 40$ 40 DOLLORES. You know how little that is for a universal electric cookin' machine? Pricey starts from mabye 150 or 200$. At the time when I got mine I was a minimum wage working student It was more than affordable for me. From my dorm room you would smell steaks & see me mates fine dining almost every night. Steaks chicken pork or beef every night almost deppends what meat was cheaper from the local butcher. Made cooking steak too easy felt like cheating. I have to be honest 1st steaks I made where too dry and solid but then I adjusted. The mistake was with my cooking skills.
    Not as energy efficient? I don't know when they appeared but if you're using one from the 80s or so get a newer one. And do some electricity calculation. The money that I'd spend on gas now went to electricity. No economical detriments for me.
    4. Less durability. This is a decent point. Its rather that its fragile compared to other appliances. Deppends on the model. Fancy digital ones that have hinges and extra stuff to them yeah. Those can get broken easier. But a cheap one or rather a basic non complex one that is just the recipient the bulb and analogue controls... worst thing you can do is drop it on the ground and have it shattered.
    Bulb can get damaged fair... I'm still learning how to cook better with mine. This is a valid concern. I don't know how well the oven takes steam. I want to cook rice in it. Plastic parts melted & discolored. Every plasticky appliance that's white suffers from that. Having it melt is a different animal. That is someone who did not read the manual. Or bought a plasticky model not thinking about heat in advance.
    5.Fair point at 5. Cleaning yeah. This is not as easy to clean as a normal oven. Because of fragility and volume and that you gotta wait for it to cool down And if you want it cleaned thorrougly you gotta use a screwdriver(deppends on the model) in order to take out the halogen protection grill and clean it. (This can be done once a week or once every 2 weeks) scheduled cleaning.

It does for a fact save energy, it does cook in less time, it does cook evenly when used properly, it gets hot like any other oven, it's easier to clean than other ovens (no spills), and the lamp has never broken. If you would have used it, you would know all this, so this review leads me to believe you didn't give it a fair try.

    😂 it cost the same as an airfryer but 3x the capacity and all glass. If the bottom doesn't brown as well, flip it half way... And most importantly, keep the food in the oven n let the residual heat cook it.

    • @kitchengadgetzone
      @kitchengadgetzone  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a clever workaround! Making the most out of your oven's capacity and utilizing residual heat for cooking is a great tip. Thanks for sharing! 😄👍

      It seems like there might be some confusion about the features of halogen ovens. While some models may have non-stick coatings, not all halogen ovens do. It's essential to double-check the specifications when making a purchase. Thanks for bringing up this point! 🍳👍

    I’ve been living alone for over 13 years, and have a gas cooker powered by a 47kg cylinder bottle (I’m in the UK).
    A few weeks ago I had to purchase my 3rd bottle during this time, and the reason for my low gas usage is halogen ovens; what doesn’t fit in the halogen oven, or goes in the slow cooker, only goes into the gas oven, which isn’t that much.
    Ironically my current halogen oven died on me the other day (thermostat probably, as it emits no heat). It cost me £38 and lasted well over 2 years, with constant use, so no complaints.
    An air fryer will cost me well over double this, and likely have a smaller capacity, so I think I know that it will be replaced with another halogen model.
    One minor negative I can give to halogen ovens, is how dirty the bowl can become (or how difficult to clean). I do use the cleaning program, but in my experience the bowl gradually got dirtier and more difficult to get clean over time.
    I did actually clean the bowl once with a steam cleaner, and also purchased a new bowl off eBay delivered for £12 (replacing a broken one).

      I find mine incredibly easy to clean. Just wipe it with a soapy cloth then rinse with another. Every so often I do put hot water in the bowl and do the clean setting to clean the "workings " in the lid. If you wash the bowl in the sink I suggest a cloth in the bottom of the sink if it's ceramic.

    You are really not giving an accurate perspective on halogen ovens. They cook evenly every time. The swirling vortex of ultra-hot air means that you do not ever need to turn your burgers/chips/chicken breasts during cooking. They are cheap to buy. Cheap to run and heat up in no time at all. From chips coming out the freezer to going into my mouth takes less than 10 minutes. I do agree that they are not durable. I had to change the halogen bulb (6 minute job) every 9-12 months which is annoying. Even so, I absolutely love it.

      @kitchengadgetzone  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for taking the time to visit. They're incredibly efficient and speedy, but the bulb changes can be a bit of a hassle. Still, the quick cooking time is hard to beat! 🕒✨ Stay tuned for more.

      It's usually banging the lid down that breaks the bulb. We've had 2 halogen ovens as we had our kitchen refitted and so bought a new one in a different colour . Only had a new bulb for the first one when I banged the lid down. Andrew James have good customer service.

    I have had to give this video a dislike and have unsubscribed. Never heard such a contrived and unhelpful set of comments, makes me wonder WHO put this person up to it. The only other ovens I know of that use less power for the same results are some air friers (I know as I have both.) You can burn yourself on any kind of oven so why say this? If you buy the most expensive type (hinged lid, digital controls) you may pay a lot but a standard halogen oven (lift off lid with stand and manual controls) can be had online for less than £40, replacement halogen lamp less than £5. The plastic container is insulated from the glass bowl with silicone bumpers, I have never seen any heat damage to the plastic. |As for "uneven cooking" any un-practiced user can do this with any type of oven, there are dozens of helpful You Tube vids on unpacking, using and cooking. Lastly, please pronounce infra red properly , (not "inforhead")

    This has to be the worst video about a cost effective, energy efficient, healthy way of cooking appliance that I have ever watched. The moment the narrator said halogen ovens can be costly, I'm done!
    Don't buy into the nonsense people. Halogen ovens are super great to cook in. Vast amount of space compared to an air fryer. Very energy efficient. At a time of pricey products and energy cost rising by the minute, we all need one of these. TH-cam can be seriously crazy at times!

    This was a very poor review. Halogen oven is very cheap to buy compared to any other oven I've seen plus it is very energy efficient than others as well, problem are you need to handle the lid gently as the bulb would be easily damaged while glowing white hot, I try to remember to turn the temperature down for about 20 seconds to let bulb cool a little, yet you still need to handle it with care if you want the light to give a long service life. Another advantage over other cooking methods is you can watch the cooking process through the glass. Just need to turn the food a few times. I would recommend above, don't listen to this review as it is rubbish. I don't often give a thumbs down, I had to on this one.

    Nonsense! I’ve had food cook unevenly in my gas oven and my ninja foodie grill air fryer and have to keep turning not just flipping I mean turning the food back to front etc. also not true that halogen ovens are expensive. They are a fraction of the price of other air fryers. I couldn’t face hearing more nonsense so stopped watching after that was mentioned.

      @kitchengadgetzone  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! Some cooking appliances, like induction cooktops, remain cool to the touch while heating the cookware through electromagnetic induction. It's not about the appliance itself being hot, but rather the heat transfer to the cookware. There's more to it than meets the eye!
