Interesting tasting. Hampden Great House Rums are some potent rums. Tasting all four back to back is no easy feat. I love the descriptor "acidic vomit" especially when you are saying it with a smile. Keep up the interesting content.
Awesome. Love the 2020. Coffee beans for the nose and cool water between tasting helps me. That little extra time between makes it more enjoyable and discernible as well. Great job.
Lol, talk about taste buds getting fried. Try doing the whole 8 marks collection in one night. I didn't taste anything for a day after that. Great lineup, thats a hard flight to do. Great work pushing through. Keep up the great content.
Excellent side-by-side ranking video! It's difficult and demanding on the palate, but I think doing blinds like this helps alleviate the sort of yearly release bias that people seem to get sometimes where each successive year gets ranked down from the previous year because of familiarity and whatever else it may be. For instance, I feel like I see the Great House 2023 getting ranked below 2022, and 2022 getting ranked below 2021 and so on, in various forums and discussions, and that seems to happen with a lot with yearly releases.
Thank you! And yeah, I've noticed that trend as well. Blinds definitely help with that. I am looking forward to trying this again next year with the 2024 to see if any of my rankings change.
I haven’t had the 20 or 21, but I really liked the 22. I tried it side by side with the 23 and I think I did like that one a little more! A bit mellower in a very pleasant way - the 22 is great but it’s SO punchy.
Can I ask for your guidance. I have the opportunity to buy 2020 through 2023. Are they worth collecting? Was thinking of buying one bottle each for drinking and one for collecting
I’m all for buying a bottle and drinking it so I’m probably not the best person to ask about collecting/investing. That being said check out the rum auctions sites to see what they are selling for
These doesn't sound fun I've blinded 5 high proof bourbon and never felt like what your describing here. I'm looking to get some sipping rums I don't believe that this brand will be in the running.
I think its the high ester count and because of that the intensity on the palate that made it a challenge. Each of these on their own might make for enjoyable experiences but all together it was a lot.
This is exactly the episode I wanted. Congrats - 10/10
So glad to hear that. Thanks!

Thank you! Ha, yeah acidic vomit is definitely not a bad thing in my book
I get my 2023 next week. Thanks for the side by side! I think I’ll recreate it next week!
Very cool. Let me know what your order is.
Thank you for your service sir!
Very welcome!

Thanks for the tip on the coffee beans!
It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it.
Always up for the challenge.
managed to find a 2021, 2022 and 2023. Soon I will be able to taste the 2023. Love other 2 editions
great! the 2024 should be out very soon too
Blind tasting is always a good plan! 🥃 Great video
Yes! Thank you!

haha yeah I had to split my 8 marks video over three days. And thank you!
Great review. Aligns with mine views exactly. Only missing the supreme champ 2019 but outside that I also rank 2020 top and 2021 last 👍
Very cool that we're aligned on the lineup. I've heard so many good things about the 2019. One day!

Awesome. I look forward to seeing next year's video and future similar ones. Great content!

Yeah agreed on the punchy. Honestly I could have easily swapped 22 and the 21 in my ranking.
Man, I have 21-23 but sadly no 20! There's one on secondary for like 400 bucks but that's not going to happen sadly
yikes that pricey. Hopefully you come across a bottle at a bar

My list is the reverse of yours 😂
haha to each their own
Time to go hunting!
Best of luck!
Incredible video as always. would love to see how you turn each great house into its own special cocktail.
That would be fun. I'm probably just going to start off and try them in a Mai Tai each.
