YOU ARE HERE : After housing a tapestry factory founded by Louis XIV's Finance Minister Colbert in 1664, Beauvais became France's national tapestry centre under Napoleon. The traditional "low weave" technique is still used in its workshops today. "You Are Here" meets the master craftsmen who weave colourful creations for France's state buildings.

Medieval tapestry designs were better than modern tapestry designs.

The old tapestries are great the new modern ones are pretentious and emperor has no clothes kinda stuff/they act like something/ but offer any old thing/wow what a waste of threads/no vision /no heart of hearts work any more there!

@5:03 this tapestry is ugly. Colossal waste of resources, time, and energy.

Art is subjective, no one can ever say a piece of art is ugly nor beautiful. This may look like nothing to you but a masterpiece in the eyes of the painter and the weaver

@@missladydollette4458 I did say it, and I'm saying it again, it is the ugliest tapestry ever made. Colossal waste of resources, time, and energy. There it goes yours "no one can ever say".
