Really enjoying this channe. Great seeing first timers using lures with reasonable success. Nice seeing Sharney enjoying fishing as much as you. Try up around Claremont Jetty sometime, got a 70cm Flathead there ages ago. I kayak fish mostly with lures after Tailor on the Swan
Thanks very much for the kind words mate, we truly appreciate the support we are getting from you guys. 70cm must be an absolute buzz to reel in. So far my PB Flatty has been the 44cm one on this video and I loved bringing that one in. Sharney’s and I have kayaks as well and want to do a video with them soon. Not sure what to target and how yet but we’re keen to learn.
Good vid mate. My last vid was a flatty session with my son - they're everywhere at the moment! Had luck on heaps of lures from both the yak and the shore - can't go wrong with the double clutch - catches anything in the Swan 😂 looking forward to the next!
Thanks very much mate we appreciate your comment. We’ve actually watched your videos before and we love your work. We actually watched a few of your Kayaking videos and it was one of the catalysts for us buying ours, so thank you for the inspiration.
@@ReelEscapes Wow thank you so much! Can thoroughly recommend kayaking the Swan. Tailor are great at the moment and reports are coming in of Giant Herring too! Might see you out there 👍🎣
That’d be awesome. Giant Herring would be such a cool fish to catch. To be honest I didn’t even know they existed until just recently. I’ve never seen them before.
Hey mate loving the videos, keep it up 👍. I’d also recommend using soft plastics. Works well with flatty’s in the swan river aswell as bream especially by the causeway bridge.
Thanks so much mate. We love reading these comments and are so happy for the support and advice. Bream on soft plastics??!! I’m super keen to try that out!! I’ve only ever fished for bream on bait. I recon a bream on lures video would be an awesome idea for a future episode. Sharney caught one of her Flatties on a white 2.5inch grub and it absolutely nailed it!
@@ReelEscapes yeah man. I have a lot of success catching bream using zman slim swimz or Daiwa bait junkie minnows 2.5 inch or even any grub curly tails from those brands in the motor oil colour way in the swan river
Always happy to share what we use mate. We love Daiwa Double Clutches and usually use the 60mm size but we’ve seen people using the larger ones with great success. I also love the Ecogear ZX40 lure and have caught heaps of flathead on them with a “jerk jerk - pause” retrieval. Would you like us to do a video for you to show what we use and where to get it?
Cobbler in WA.👍
Back in the Day we used to catch them towards Guildford. 😉👍

Do you get out on the river on a boat?
I haven’t done too much in a boat lately mate no. Although my Dad has a runabout that we have access to.
