    • @dennisp8520

Carriers only provide free roaming because the UK was part of the EU that may change with Brexit. As far as cost US cell service is actually more affordable than the UK. We literally have plans here for domestic use that cost as little as $5 a month

I don't live at the states, but follow your content for a while. Always find interesting how the prices and services are around the globe. Like the UK lte and those crazy speeds, or how US carriers differentiate hotspot and cellphone data.
For a while I've use to think that mobile plans are expensive here at Brazil, but your channel change this impression (off course, the income is different also, but is a interesting comparison).

You should do a comparison of travel roaming sim plans for those who dont option for the roaming plans on their carriers (specifically those running dual sim phones wether be those with esim + physical sim or 2 physical sims.) Unlimited data in 210 countries as well as free texting. 128KBPS if u have an old simple choice plan or T-Mobile one. 256KBPS if u have the T-Mobile one plus, one plus international, unlimited 4G LTE data internationally if you had the grandfathered consumer global plus, 15 gigabytes of 4G LTE if u got the 15GB consumer global plus, then 256KBPS after use the 15 gigs on the last plan mentioned.

Also you might want to set up emergency sos with location to contacts. Incase they can’t track you.

We were about to switch to Google Fi for the international plan, BUT... Google will cut you off your data permanently if you use it internationally for a long but not clearly stated amount of time. I've seen reports of people who used it for 2 months and had their int'l data turned off permanently. So only good for shorter vacations. France is a problem as you need a French bank account to get a plan.

I checked their rates though, and they’re BAD. There is no decent option with them. I don’t know what I’m gonna do. It’s a school trip so I might just have to use text now or something to get in touch with family when I’m around WiFi unless I get something figured out.

Thanks for the great info. I travel all the time so I already knew most of the info but this is great for people that are going on a short trip and don't want to have to do a bunch of research. Verizon and AT&T are a joke! More like a really bad nightmare. Yikes! I currently have to Mobile paying the 15 dollar charge to double my speeds. When I upgrade to a new phone I will seriously consider switching to Google Fi.
