I didn't tested yet. I think 6" APC works good, and 7" prop may be a bit excessive. I tested 7" props as same brand on the vid. I believe 6.5" prop is the best for me. It would be nice to look up articles related to disk loading.
7070 with 1250kv 2212 motor will achieve 200kph by using a 10c battery on Alpha. A lot of torque though. For fixed wing, high pitch prop promote speed obviously and easier than enlarge power components.
@@celeselements Any single engine still apply too much torque on it’s small wing span, best solution is twin motor. I’ve tested dual 2205 2300kv 6040 prop (yes the ancient quad sets) with 4*2 18650 pack, takes off slow and steady. Alpha has a wider speed range than we expect.
I don't know, I didn't tested. My setup for baby ARwingPro is intended for balance, not for speed. If you want to mount oversized power on the babyARwingPro, you should reinforce the wing, like laminate film, add carbon pipes, etc.
Your autolaunch idle throttle seems low and your launch throttle high. Going from almost no torque to huge torque. Getting the two closer might eliminate your crazy launches.
It looks like it gets some airframe flutter at higher speeds, have you thought about coating the wing with fiber reinforced packing tape under the outer film? More stiffness can't hurt!
Have you tried some APC props? 6x6 or 7x6 ?
With drones the weird thing is that smaller props are faster.

Yes, my idle throttle is 1200, I'll try more idle throttle at next time for your advice.
