Sulley all the way. You get him at the tutorial, and he's an A+ tier in PVP and top S tier in the Raids. But for when Club Expeditions is coming around, I will recommend Ian and Barley. Downtown Heroes will be required for the Expeditions, and I am predicting that Ian will wipe out everything like the harmful effect Elsa he is.
any team that can unlock a legendary (just avoid ralph and male for they are harder to unlock than the other and ralph is only useful for pvp, baymax is still okay, beast, well, you say it often enough, he's a beast, elsa is solid and easy to farm, hercules is kinda hard but the investment is worth it)
in my opinion, focusing on that triton/ frozone/ calhoun/ hiro/ merlin is the best choice you can do as a beginner you'll be able to solo ursula raid and it gives you the possibility to farm your t8 gear faster with a beginner's club. except for triton they are all easy to farm with tourney and GC
We need Encanto characters like yesterday! Amazing movie, easily top 3 Disney Movie for me, not including Pixar. I want to see Luisa vs Hercules in DSA after her song Surface Pressure! So many layers to this movie!
I think who I'm most surprised on this list is Namarri. We don't really have a great pvp mode that she can be used in. Kingdom Villains struggle in high end pvp. She's not good in raids. So I guess Club Conquest? She just doesn't seem to offer the same utility as others, unless we're thinking about the long term Malificent unlock.

Dr Facilier has been great in every mode consistantly since launch. I never regretted investing in him
I found Sven to be really good and still use him in some teams
