    Have to be careful with two issues with a sensor lift. The angle of the CV axles will speed up the wear and easier to bust open the boots and if you do not get a tire alignment after lifting, the tires will wear much more on the outside edge. Facts.

      You're right - the front right boot failed immediately and needed new clips. It was already worn so it just busted right away :)

      differential drop is best. like on my LX@@landcruiserscotland

    I'd love to see the full process for swapping the springs. What all needs to be disconnected to get enough drop on the rear axel, which jack point would be best to use to be out of the way, etc.

    Did all of that a few months ago on a LX470=100 series LC with 32"x10.50 tyres and 480.000km on the clock, standard landcruiser springs in the back, not AHC skinny ones, turned the torson bars 13 turns up to compensate for soft springs in the front, lifted the back and front as you said, make sure you put the rear springs on the correct side, different spring rates due to fuel tank on left side.
    Loaded up for a rough 6500km trip up for two, to far north Queensland carrying 8 jerry cans including two for water, no back seats at all, food, sleeping gear, tools, spares etc. on all sorts of road surfaces or no road surface, no trouble, works fine. AHC had no trouble lifting, pressure in the system not too high, no tyre wear other than normal. The damping was mostly set to normal and felt okay. Not a minutes trouble with the car.

      Wow I bet that was running HEAVY! Any ideas what the overall weight was when fully loaded?

    • @paulboon1100
      @paulboon1100 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@landcruiserscotlandthanks for your a question. Yes it wasn't light, but, those back seats are Heavy, just the left two seater I can bearly lift(at least 3 Jerry cans worth in that one) and the other ones aren't light either, but had non in there so that saves weight, the LC rear springs take a lot more weight than the LX springs, which unloads the hydraulic shocks, without them pumped up the bump stops were still a distance away from the front and rear axels loaded. I also have a steel bullbar, winch, rear steel bumper and tyre carrier plus drawers, rock sliders, no roof rack!
      The problem in Australia is that one needs fuel for a long range, I carry 260 L. 140L in the OEM tanks is just not enough in a V8 LC or even the 4.5L 6 cyl if you go outback proper. So jerry's or long range tanks it is. You also need water, I carry 50 L minimum. Fuel economy is all over the place on muddy or sandy tracks and distances are vast! So double use is no real problem. I have no clue what it weighed not sure if I want to! Lol.

      Paul , winding up the torsion cars , did it throw any fault codes ?

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nothing at all. I used techstream to make sure I only wound them up until normal pressure readings were restored.

      @@Bakerboy16 no, no fault codes, now mine is a "98 so hasn't got all the electronics later models have, but I wouldn't expect any fault codes.

    Hi, i thank you for your grat video...I want to change all three height sensors with new ones which I have on hand. What do I have to be careful with?... Does the LC should stand on Jack , all 4 wheels up ? ...like changing the Accumulators changing? Step by step sequence please? 🙏🏽
    Thank you dear .

    Wandering why at the front you didn't just move bolt up the bracket?

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I see what you mean - I didn't even notice there was a slider there too. Normal procedure is to just thread the adjustment rod rather than moving the mounting point. I wonder if it's possible to do both...

    What would happen if I set the car to 'Hi' after doing sensor lift? will the car break itself?

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope it most goes a bit higher and higher pressure for the system

    I have 2000 LX470 and the AHC is riding bouncy both off road and on road. Mechanic said: I have to change gas chamber. Is there any aftermarket upgrades? Can I adopt king external reservoir? Did any body try to do that?

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are four gas "globes" which can fail and cause bouncy ride. There are plenty of things to check first. Are your torsion bars correctly adjusted? Have you changed the ahc fluid? Have you checked the graduations change on the tank when you go from Lo position to High?

    Mate, the suspension have to do all the travell, used to have 10cm to compresion and 10 cm to extension, if you up the car for 5cm (2") you loose 5 cm of extension, It's like walking with straight knees, You lose the ability to cushion, just by looking good. best way to improve your tall is by wheels, and if you need to gain space, it's better the body lift or cut metal

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah it's a tradeoff. Fortunately I'm a damn savage. I have body lifted, cut my steel, fitted 35s, and I never go offroad 😂

    How does it drive so far??

    • @monsterpoo
      @monsterpoo ปีที่แล้ว +4

      he died right after first test drive.... the sensor lift caused a nuclear reaction and exploded the suspension and a spring rocketed through his bungie hole

      My bungie hole is well rocketed.

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It drives pretty much the same as stock with just a ahc lift. If you go any higher in the front the ahc pressures get too high though and the ride quality is awful.

      @@landcruiserscotlanddo you still have high mode in AHC with this?

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it still works well. The suspension gets quite hard in high mode now due to the extra pressure. Like super sport mode
