Another great adventure with the Trail Tribe!! Thanks for letting me relive this one since I obviously won’t be getting to mine anytime soon haha. Your shots on the last day of the moody mountain vistas were some of my favorites! And Chad’s last blooper was one of the best yet!🤣
I love our adventures!
What a great trip! Those views were crazy good
Told ya! The PMT will steal your heart!
Great hike Nick. I definitely have to get on that trail soon.
Told ya! Those views will steal your heart!
This is one of my favorite videos of yours, and one of the most memorable Trail Tribe trips. And probably the most difficult. If not for you and Samuel, I probably never would have completed this section, so I thank you for taking the time out to help me.
I like how you left in more of our silliness in this one. It gives everyone a nice glimpse of the fun we have on the trail. It also makes it clear how we became less fun as the exhaustion set in, haha. Man, that last day was rough. But it made for some great shots. I love all those rainy shots. Also, great job capturing our relief and joy at the tower. We look exactly the way I felt at that moment. That was the highlight of a very memorable trip. "Litter Bug becomes Trail Angel" indeed! 🤣🤣 I also appreciate the look into Samuel's song-writing process 😁 Great video, brother! Can't wait to do it again! (Just not on this trail...)
What? You don't want to do it again?! 🤣 Gotta keep up with your brothers! I knew when I was stuck using my camera phone, that I wanted to focus more on being more laid back and capturing our antics! I'm glad it worked out!
@@Smokeybeesnatural I do want to do it again. In about 10 or 20 years when there's another section of trail and there are no more reroutes 😁
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I did this section about 15 years ago before all the reroutes and before the shelter was built. We slept in the grass at the base of the tower. The views from the firetower are the best. It was nice meeting you at the Hoosier Outdoors TH-camr meetup. Hope we cross paths again. Take care Brother.

Hey Bill! It was great to meet you as well! I first did this section roughly 5 years ago on my first thru-hike of the PMT. Even though I was walking the original reroute, from Blaze to Blaze in super thick fog, I would have rather done that again 🤣. Ice storms and over growth is make it more difficult! Thank you for watching!
Looks like an awesome trip! I need to visit the southeastern part of the state/Pine Mountain more.
I have that arch pinned near Austin Gap as Skyview Shelter Arch.
You definitely should! Pine Mountain has more arches than your would think! The sign says Skyview, but locals will also argue it's Bull Hole. They get kinda passionate about it!
Love the area. Beautiful vistas and waterfall. Cool video brother
Thanks buddy!
Great hike, thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you for watching!
Wow!! Such an inspiring video, Great work and great experience
Really enjoyed watching this. Thank you for taking us on an adventure.🤙🤙
Thank you for the wonderful comments!
Great job on the video. Enjoyed. 👍😎
Thank you for watching!
You know how I feel about this section! It’s home 🏠 Great vid! Congrats on everyone completing the PMT 🎉
I LOVE THAT MOUNTAIN! My first thru-hike of the PMT was back on 2017 and the first time I climbed that tower, I cried when I saw that view!
@@Smokeybeesnatural so glad others appreciate it. it’s a very special mountain that us locals do not take for granted.
Trust me, that mountain teaches me a lesson every time! It's heartbreaking to see it littered so much near Elkhorn City. That and all the gas lines and forest clearing.
Nothing short of "Take my Breath Away"! Congrats Chad! How do those trail shelters get there? Someone, sometime, just goes and builds one deep in the woods?? Do ya'll worry about what may be in a cave?? Have you ever come across a critter in one? I wish you could have heard the OH. MY. GOD. when you showed the scene. Holy wha. We have only white here!
Awe shucks ☺️ Thank you! So far, we haven't startled any critters in caves. Guess we're due 🤣. Shelters along trails are typically built near an access point. The Birch Knob Shelter is only a 5 minute walk from the parking lot for the observation tower. The trail to that point is also wide enough for an ATV to drive in. This is one of 4 Shelters on a 60 mile section of trail. The others aren't as fancy, but definitely worth staying in!
Cool tadpoles, what a wholesome video!
Thank you for watching!

You won't be disappointed! Each section of the PMT is great!
