It's hard to determine the exact note, but it's a good recording for the lowest chest notes he reached in his life.

Anyone who can nail a B0 and act like he could go another octave doesn't need fry. His notes were too well sustained and no flip to fry can be heard. Some people like JD and Tim Storms just have a very rare abnormality that allows them to hit natural lows no one else can. I am sure that JD much like Tim had a vocal cord and vocal fold abnormality that allowed such extremes.

I know folk my mother brother and father who just don't "get" JD but I do ever since I first heard him when I was about 9 or 10 in the late 60s early 70s and I still "get" him to this very day. He was incredible and I heard no one to touch him save perhaps Ivan Reboff or Tukka Happenimen(?).
